Rick is the toast of the town. His town. His home town. Top of the list. King of the hill. A number one.

He made it everywhere. But nothing compares to a boy leaving home, coming back after a long career journey, and restoring a program in decline and making Queens a shining city on the hill. A place to be proud of, a school where we can say, "I went to dat place"

Thank you Rick. Seriously. Thank you.

I literally had no idea what to expect when Rick came here. The way I feel now, is that anything is possible. What a feeling.

What he has instilled in them since end of last year is just plain toughness.

They don't let go of the rope. They are not unbeatable or infallible by any means but they are tough as nails.

You better stick the knife in all the way if you are going to beat them.

Perfectly stated…there are at least 3 T shirts that can be made from that :)

MILWAUKEE -- St. John's coach Rick Pitino wanted his Red Storm to close the regular season with the kind of challenge they could expect to face in the NCAA tournament.

They got all that and then some Saturday. And they responded by producing perhaps their most thrilling victory in a season full of memorable moments.

Zuby Ejiofor hit a game-winning shot to beat the overtime buzzer as the sixth-ranked Red Storm beat No. 20 Marquette 86-84 for their sixth straight victory. RJ Luis Jr. had forced overtime by sinking a tying basket with 10.7 seconds left in regulation.

Not a bad way to head into March Madness.

"It's a hell of a win, probably my favorite win of the season by far," Pitino said.
