Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

So on the other side of the Richard Neer comment. I am also way oder than you. Class of '75 and '78, so I remember when Neer was a long time disc jockey on the original WNEW-FM. When that ended and he moved part time to FAN, 30 years ago, I followed him. He let's callers talk, no shouting, no insults and his takes on things are rationale and thought-out. Hyperbole is not his thing.

His voice is unlike anyone on the station, so I get insomnia being equated with low key. But his interviews are great because he asks good questions and doesn't interrupt.

Rick won't evr go on with Neer, first, part time early morning weekend jock, plus he is not into college BB that much, his sports are football, baseball and golf. He went to SYR I think but doesn't talk their BB, actually not college FB much either. NFL.

Rick will pick WFAN spots with higher profile and more ratings.
Read Neers book on his life in FM radio - he actually went to Adelphi and started his jock career there.

This has a positive impact on my view of Pitino as a person.
Though personally I would not go with spaghetti.
He may be partial to it because he throws a lot of it against the wall when he talks to the press, though.
As long as no one dares call it “noodles and gravy”, which is an affront to Italian cuisine and my sensibilities.

Wow, I completely forgot about that guy and it's been less than a year. Amazing what being 26-4 will do for the memory.

I don't recall ever hearing a bad word about him out of coach but probably the last low major kid we ever see here under Pitino.
Yeah, Virginia Military Institute and Southern Conference, wondered what staff saw there, averaged 8 mins and 2 pts a game for us. Nice kid out of Fairfield CT, now playing/played in Greece, averaging 5 ppg

I'm assuming they figured a VMI kid would help set culture after they gave the boot to 90 percent of the previous team. Probably thought there'd be more threes hit though.

Rick Italian American, born mid town east Manhattan, then Cambria Heights, Queens, then Oyster Bay, LI, he losses points on his reaction to these Italian dish questions in my book. I think Lil' Luigi could school Rick when it comes to good Italian meals.

Rick more of a high-end Steak and Seafood restaurant yuppie-type.
Cambria Heights!!!
