We all know Richard can't answer pops request publicly, but privately it's most likely a verbal agreement.
Or Junior is chuckling at Rick shaking his head because he can’t shut up.
He’s got a legit squad this year that can win games in March. They have some serious backcourt play with Dent’s ridiculous improvement.
We might have to move a few of his players up from JV to varsity in NYC.

Maybe a home and home between sju and N Mexico in a few years when SJU is Top Dog in the B.E. and N Mexico is a potential top 10 team?

I think they would be an excellent Holiday Festival matchup next year
Thinking about this Rick is just firing the first salvo in Richard's contract extension/renegotiation or trying to put Richard's name out there for some lucrative job openings.

Which raises the question , what does Val Ackerman do ? Other than insert UCONN back into the BE ?
Maybe she should be thinking about the NIL’s and how to better structure them ?
And , given the DePaul issue , a Answer . It’s not doing the BE and any of the other teams any good to have a perpetual bottom feeder on TV .
It’s got to be embarrassing to see the few DePaul fans at home games and see all the empty seats .
It’s apparent the DePaul Administration hasn’t come up with a solution and needs much help .
A possible solution is to get DePaul a big name Coach but , who would take the job and can the School construct a viable NIL plan ?
It doesn’t seem that DePaul is even able to attract the aging Alumni and fans that to some extent St John’s has had even in the 20 years of Doldrums .
It’s gotten out of hand that DePaul offers nothing to the BE in its current state .Other than to create automatic Wins for the other Schools .
Watching last night on TV was like a exhibition game and we can theorize it did our team better than a Practice ? I doubt it did
Pitino cleared the bench but , the Win is kind of artificial since it doesn’t move our needle upward . And , all the Teams we need to finish ahead of , are going to beat up on DePaul just as we did .
Xavier , PC, Seton Hall, Villanova and us, are all within a game or 2 . All of them are fattening up DePaul and G’Town as we hope to as well .
As many have said , we need a Quad 1 win or 2 at this point . Which means MqC , Creighton plus SH .
A big win on Sat at McQ would be a start .
if New Mex stays in the 22-28 ranking range... and we make the Tourney... this is the type of matchup the committee likes putting together as of recent years- games with interesting story lines.
6/11 or a 7/10 NMex/SJU matchup

Yeah, any thoughts I had about Massiello taking over were wiped out with the Seton Hall game.
This has been my fear since Rick took over: that he would be given too much power to choose his successor. That rarely, if ever, works.
When Rick decides it's time to do something else, we should do a full-on search, and pick the best available candidate, but no hand-picked choices from Rick.
He's planting some kind of seed. Nothing is ever as it seems with him. He's the Willy Wonka of interviews.
