Who cares who supported which past coaches? Even though I was outwardly against CMA during most of his final couple seasons, the school still ended up firing him and hired the best possible coach. CMA was never going to be fired after 3 years, especially after winning BE CotY his second year, so people supporting him and the team made literally zero difference in terms of how long he remained here.

Anyway, I only lurk on #sjubb and shouldn't give the trolls any attention, but if they're reading this then seek help. The people being targeted already know how much value they bring to our team and I'm glad they continue doing so.

My suggestion is just ignore these people.
True fans are fans irrespective of who the coach is as it is not something we can control.
I have always rallied behind every coach since Louie even though I knew that some would fail the day their hiring was announced.
Others I have been flat out wrong on and I am not ashamed to admit it. Chris Mullin was the hardest working player there was and I was sure that work ethic would apply as a coach. For whatever reasons, and it doesn’t matter it unfortunately did not work out.
Today in August of 2023 we have a fantastic basketball mind as a coach, a relentless worker who has surrounded himself with what appears to be an outstanding staff, a proven recruiter that does not just need 5 star recruits to be successful, a great track record as a coach at the highest of conferences and who is engaging with the fans and supporters. He has brought in a tremendous recruiting class which exceeded all posters expectations and is working hard on the 2024 class with success already.
NIL money is coming in and steps are being taken to maximize same going forward.
Zero reason for any fan to be unhappy imho.
If someone is unhappy with the current state of the program they have deeper issues.
I for one will just continue to bask in the turnaround that has occurred the last few months and avoid those that continue to see the darkness.

Twitter is a cesspool. And these issues aren't unique to just St Johns basketball. Choose any topic and there are tons of trolls out there looking for attention. It's why many people I know including myself won't even bother going on Twitter, because it's nearly impossible to have a genuine discussion.

It was bad before Elon. It's bad after Elon.

But unfortunately almost all news from bball recruiting to election results breaks on Twitter, which is why I'm compelled to stay.
 
I always use the “Enter at your own risk” policy with social media. It is good for certain things, but it is overall a huge cesspool.

We even have trolls on this site that make the forum unreadable (some may be pointing at me here).

I get in and get out of the social media world. Don’t stay long. Just treat it like a visit to my mother in law.

Call Twitter what it is----"X". Musk has a thing for "X" afterall he has a Tesla Model X, Space-X and his recently created son named X AE A-XII who goes by the first name X. Worse than Johnny Cash's Boy Named Sue!
