Reimagined Roster

Marillac is that friend at the bar that regardless if the hotties have husbands or boyfriends you send him in to break the ice he’s going to be relentless and either break that ice or those husbands are getting a call to the bar but he’s going out swinging
Sometimes you break the ice, sometimes the ice breaks you.

Where is ESPKen with his Titanic photo?

Dingle needs to shoot his way to more confidence to get back to some semblance of what he used to be.

Jenkins . . . already has enough confidence 😁
I admire your take on Dingle . The optimism of us Redmen fans is one of the things that sustain us .
However , I like the young Man but , expecting more from Dingle at this point in the season is wishful thinking .

He is what he is and really hasn’t produced any where near expectations as a big time shooter and scorer

But , the degree of displeasure with Jenkins is disappointing .

Some on this Board still want to play the Posh , if he were here game , and that foolish .

Jenkins and Soriano occasionally and Luis , when he plays are the few who can get their shot with their own ability .

The second guessers forget Pitino has given the keys to Jenkins and isn’t about the take them from him . Jenkins has kept us
in games we could hsve easily lost .

The player I think Rick erred on was Slasinski. He’s big and can shoot . Something we are sorely missing .

I can’t imagine wanting to spend one second with any woman who found Marillac tolerable based on his posting. I can do better than that myself, and already have, thank you.

Slazinski is shooting .398 and .305 from 3-point line.

Not joining the fray except to say nearly all the guys on here are very different in person in a good way.

I try to remember that before hitting send when conversation heats up. In those cases, better not to respond at all. On occasion Knight sends me a private that simply says, "Why? You know better."

Not a bad 1Draft. Maybe a little less Marillac negativity and more specific things you like about the Mrs. and you’ll have yourself a great Valentine’s card in 3 weeks. I look forward to the 2Draft.

I'm trying to come up with a diplomatic way to answer this. This is the best I can do, I'm only human. So, Jones stays, and Luis and Taylor still want to transfer to SJU? Storr stays and Dingle looks at all his options and transfers to SJU? Posh and Jenkins both want to fight for playing time? And on and on. Because you seem to think there is no cause and effect here. I will give you the first rule of accounting. There are no one-sided transactions.

There is no way these rosters could ever exist, which gets to the bigger point. Last year's guys are gone. They are not coming back. The girl dumps you for another guy. You lose her number.

If I was going to fantasize about a current SJU roster that had no chance of existing I would be including guys like Kolek and Kalkbrenner on them. If you are going to dream - dream big! No reason to be thinking about ugly girls in the shower.
IDRAFT, I usually enjoy your posts and get that there are plenty of posters that either don't want to hear about players from last year's team and/or hope they have a crummy season this year to prove they were a large part of the "toxic culture" on last year's team.

Let me start by saying I am 100% happy that Pitino is our coach, understand and agree with his right to assemble a team of his choosing and am also 100% supportive of all our current players and when I point out good things last year's players are doing it is not to imply I wish we still had them in lieu of any of this year's players.

But many of us still consider anyone who committed to wear the Johnnie uniform (with extremely few exceptions) a Johnnie and like to see them do well in their post St. John's endeavors. The fact that at least 4 of the guys who were on last year's team (Storr, Jones, Stanley & Wusu) are big parts of teams that are currently listed as in Lunardi's bracket would seem to indicate that either they have changed from being key part of a toxic culture or (more likely imho) found teams and coaching situations where their talents could shine.

I will continue to follow them and point out when they are thriving in the spirit of Keeping Up with Old Friends. Feel free to block my posts if you are really annoyed by them.

Does an incoming Hall Of Fame coach have the right to basically fire a team and bring in a new one? Absolutely. He’s earned that privilege. But speculation and fantasy is a lot of what we do on this board, so here’s mine: a Pitino-coached team of Soriano, Posh, Jones, Storr and Wusu—with people like Stanley and King coming off the bench—might have kicked some serious butt in this league….

This wasn’t in response to you.

Wusu wasn't allowed back, Posh blew off coming back, and Storr didn't want to come back. So that lineup goes well beyond fantasy.

Stanley was never going to rebound the way he needed to.

Jones and King, not sure what happened there but both would have had an impact here I believe.

Jones played for Stubblefield, CMA, and now Hardaway. The idea he could fit with Pitino makes zero sense and he did a great job of finding the right spot for himself. Everyone wins.

The Ignore function is a good one and I use it a lot. I see no reason on my end to use it on you, but that’s not to say I will never disagree with you. If anyone, including you, wants to use it for my posts I understand and support them in their right to do so.
