Scott Garrett should be ashamed of himself.
Amazing St. John’s and their kids rarely win in these situations. Without knowing fully what the criteria are for these decisions they seem to be arbitrary. Maybe Main Man is right. It’s a Shame.

How do guys like Grimes, Washington, Thiam all get their waivers cleared no problem...and a kid who went to a school for a coach, coach gets fired in the summer, and the kid is punished for it.

NCAA is clueless, they really are. Let the kid play. He sat a year and his coach left. I mean it's a simple decision.
Just another example of the NCAA being all about benefitting the “kids”. Yeah, right.
Coach leaving, kids should be free to leave without penalty. No one should be forced into a shot gun marriage. I don’t see coaches sitting out a year when they up and leave. Even worse this kid already sat a year.
And yes, if either LJ or MH had left SJU should have supported their immediate eligibility elsewhere.

I really do get the fact that he knew he was taking the risk of perhaps sitting out and a waiver was needed, but when you look at some of the cases that did get passed it really is a no brainer. What’s worse (better I guess) is I’m sure the NCAA will do some bogus review and clear him 10 games in. They’ll say it was necessary but all it will do is take 10 games away from another kid.
