I saw a brief video from a cell phone by Frenchmen leaving the scene of one of the attacks last night. They were singing the French national anthem. It reminded me of a scene from the classic move Casablanca. My heart goes out to them.

Je suis un Parisian!

The truth is, in moments like these, as humans we look for things to be inspired. We have resolve - we are Armericans, we are French, whatever. We won't be defeated by evil. Boston Strong. We are New Yorkers. God Bless America. All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish a single candle.

The reality is that it is beyond rational human capacity to slaughter innocent civilians who were doing nothing more than living their lives. For effect, these subhumans have filmed decapitations, flown planes into buildings, detonated human bombs in public places. Radical Islamists have created a movement fueled purely by hatred and satisfied only by blood. The Nazis and Hitler someone convinced a developed nation to believe they were superior genetically - Aryan - and that Germany needed to maintain ethnic purity by eradicating Jews and others. Not surprisingly, a goal of Islamic radicals is also to destroy Jews and Israel, a view voiced by leaders of Iran (who we've negotiated a treaty with). Thankfully, Nazi's fought a conventional war and could be overcome once the U.S. might and will entered WWII. Radical Islam is insidious and operates in shadows - except in the cities they have taken control of in Middle Eastern countries.

They will be destroyed because they must be destroyed. Our President lacks the resolve, desire, or courage to do so. 2017 can't get here fast enough.

Imagine for a second if our military decided to indiscriminately level the cities where Isis (the junior varsity) has taken control. I don't believe for a second that as they were described as the junior varsity that our middle east intelligence didn't know they were seizing control of large parts of countries. Imagine if our response to terrorism was to publicly announce that we would seek out the families of any terrorist, dead or alive, and murder their entire extended families - that their blood would be the price to pay for slaughtering innocents. It would be inhuman, and evil. If a natural disaster shook the middle east, in any country, America would lead the humanitarian response - because our culture is in essence good. Even when Bin Laden was executed, we gave him a proper Islamic burial,

In an electronic age, where every call, every text message, every website visit, every email, every facebook post, codified or not, is traceable and recordable, these animals can and will be destroyed. All it takes is resolve. A world wide will. It's way beyond changing the way they think. I can't separate their religion from their evil. I've spoken to a lot of Muslims - good people - over the years. Even in agreeing in the nature of atrocities, they will counter with, "But you should understand why these radicals hate America." I shouldn't and I don't, and neither should any rational person. Good is good, and evil is evil. Good, wherever it lives, should be celebrated and nurtured. Evil, wherever it lives, must be brought to justice, and when necessary, destroyed.

The year in France begins with Charlie Hebdo and ends in a genocidal bloodbath. What a nightmarish future looms for the French. What do you think they will do to address the problem?

Ask the U.S. to intervene.

Great post Beast! I now vow to suffer some of your hoop posts without complaint!

disgusting what happened and no doubt it is going to happen again within the next year. This might sound too simplistic but when a theater with over 1k people gets stormed by 3 people with guns I totally understand and I would have done same the initial urge to run or hide but sooner or later there are so many of you in different directions you gotta bum rush these sickos because they have every intention of killing each and every one of you.

I can't believe the people on the news leaving now and canceling vacations etc. If it wasn't wintertime I'd be looking to go there again. Great travel bargains.

When it's your time to go it's your time. No sense living scared.

I honestly think there will be a strong movement there to ban Islam. And if there was a feasible plan to eject 4 million Muslims from France they would do it. Not having a feasible plan might not even stop them. Next 10 years or so will be ugly ugly ugly.

Best flight I ever had was in October after 9/11. Was headed to New York from San Francisco for job interviews. Row in front of me, empty. Row next to me, empty. Row behind me, empty. Stretched across my row and awoke to a MILFy flight attendant reaching around my waist to buckle me in while I was laying down. I probably could have stripped down to my underwear and no one would have said anything. Eerily silent on the plane, though. Plus I'm not sure I paid even $200 for it.

You may or may not be aware that 1/6th of the Louvre art collection is devoted to Islamic art.

I don't think there will be any calls to empty the Louvre, but I would not be shocked at all to see pushes for nationwide ban on hijabs and mosques.

was in Paris 3 weeks ago. at a soccer game just like those people at the France Germany game. We were at the Parc des Princes which is on the other side of town. Security at my PSG game was phenomenal I have to say. Thank God those animals were unable to get into that stadium. I don't want to venture to guess what the casualty increase would have been. We can assume the security at Stade de France was just as good..and it needed to be.

Coming soon to a mall near you, or me, or someone else you know.

Be alert folks. If your state allows concealed carry, better get one or two. Reminder though, if you are a nut case, don't buy one.

It won't happen. On the subject of art, Isis has been blowing up middle eastern antiquities. A few weeks ago the tied hostages to the columns of thousands year old structures and blew them up

I try not to get too paranoid, but I'm really shocked that there hasn't been a coordinated public transportation attack here in the years since 2001. Blowing up 20 or so rush hour buses and trains in major cities would certainly be a lot easier than pulling off planes nowadays, and the casualties would still be enormous.

As for malls, I'm personally more worried about schools being targeted -- there's no guard at my daughters' grammar school and the front door is unlocked. I assume it's not the only school in the country like that. Pretty sure Oakland is not on any terrorist maps, though. Across the bay, on the other hand. . .

Attacking malls at holiday season is something that's been rumored as "chatter" picked up by intelligence in years past, and I'm sure we'll hear it again now.

While I don't agree with your assessment of the president, I must say that radical Islam is an evil force in the world. However, it is short sighted to think that the policies of the West which created much of the climate that spawned radical Islam aren't in part responsible. I have friends who argue that the proper response to this kind of terrorism is to go out and buy a gun. Sorry, I can not agree.

The west has provided a fertile breeding ground for radical islam for 50 years, propping up the shah in iran begat the Ayatollah and the Iranian regime we see today, Russia's invasion of Afghanistan and the response begat Al Qaeda and the Taliban, the invasion of Iraq begat Isis. Most of these moves are and continue to be made with what seem to be logical short term goals (or they're blatant oil grabs, I'm not sure) and little to no comprehension of the long term after effects of these actions. No solutions, just more problems.

That kind of talk gets you blasted on Yahoo comments as a libtard. Believe me, I know.
