Quick Lavin Story

Please don't turn this to a bash thread but figured I'd share a quick Lavin story from this weekend.

This weekend he took Jones,Felix some other kids that used to work for him and their families to Phillipe Chow for dinner in a private room downstairs.Over 20 people Did it as just a way of saying thank you to the kids who were graduating and the kids that worked for him to tell them how much he appreciated them. No other motive. Just to say thanks and to see familiar friends. It would be pretty easy to not do something like this since he hasn't coached for us in over a year but I think this was a really classy thing of him to do. BTW Jones and Felix were getting along with him great and they truly care about the guy and if I was Felix I'd have been still pissed over the wasted season. lol

Who is Quick Lavin?
 
Very nice story. A classy thing to do and a valuable life lesson to share with those kids about the proper way to treat the people around you.

I'll tip my cap to Steve Lavin for things like this.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. One thing Lavin succeeded at was his relationship with most of his players. On the sidelines it was clear he was in control and had everyone's attention. When grading him on the academic success of his players in general, and on the mutual respect and care they had for each other, LAvin deserves very high grades. The other stuff is for another day. Good job in posting this, and really great of Lavin to drop a few grand on his former players.

as far as im concerned, what Lav did is a lot more than most. We all know what scumbags half these coaches are.

Good for him and hope for his continued health and success at Fox. 1st post I've had about him without a dig in a very very long time!

Perhaps both of their tombstones, but being a decent human being is more important than being outrageously successful at your job..

Yeah but successful guy drives better car, sleeps with hotter women and goes on better vacations. And that guy can always make death bed atonement to clean up any sins he might have done along the way.

The dude was doing a nice thing and he was always polite to me and my kids. I get the X/O part but he wasn't a bad person.
