@Providence, Wed. Jan. 25, 6:30pm, FS1/570AM

28-23 SJU, at the under 8.

I like some of the things we've done. Ball movement has mostly been good. We've had a few good defensive possessions, too. Both teams in foul trouble.

I feel like we should be up more, but Providence is also close to 80% from the field, so maybe they cool down.

Providence shooting % is because they are getting anything they want.

Never understood why any coach would want to be miked up in a TO

Yes, but 80% is still abnormally high, even conceding that that is the reason.

Lovett intentionally committed that foul, just to set up that last shot! ;)

A few things not to like during that half, but I can't complain with a nine-point lead at intermission. The three starting guards have all dominated this game.

With Ponds looking to be back to his normal form

Williams made a few good & timely plays. Wish he could handle more minutes, Amar less/none.

Again, I have no idea who is better between Ponds and Lovett

I should be happy with a 9point lead away.
Still, if feels like we should be up more.
I hope Ponds gets that smile and energy level back at a high level with
A good second half. He aeems focused so far.
And at least we arent getting destroyed on the boards.
Several good signs...can we do two good halves on the road?

Not a great sign giving up 60% fg in first half. Defense has to be there in the second.

seems to me like the game plan was to hit the boards and overplay the ball going for steals. Seems to have rattled Prov. Interested to see how both teams respond.

As is so often the case, the first five minutes of the second half can set the probability of team behind catching up or not. The Friars started horrible in the first half with turnovers and fouls. We need to hold them down right away and break any sense of a quick comeback victory.

Just ugly, absolutely unwatchably ugly. Lackadaisical team, hard for me to root for, don't respect the ball, don't play defense
