hopefully better than your fantasy football picks :)

Wins & losses aside, one area of growth to hopefully see this season is ability to recover, stop the bleeding and get back in game when opponent goes on run.

In my opinion, PC game, even on road is winnable. I see a close game, but a 5 point PC win. Hopefully we can contain Cartwright, their very good PG & don't allow their 6'7 well built transfer from Indiana, Emmitt Holt, to look like Wes Unseld. Rodney Bullock is a nice player as well. Go Johnnies!

Lindsey had a career game against us last year. Does anybody know the status of Cartwright, he was hurt during the second half against nova?

On paper they're a fairly similar team. No real inside presence and they rely on their perimeter and transition games and an effective point. Of our remaining road games I think this one is the bast shot for stealing a W.

Surprised that with the gossip that goes on around hear no one has raised the interesting social media posts of our teenage athletes.... two posts by Lovett and Yakwe each indicating similar messages, that they are "playing for the name on the back of their jersey"....

wonder how that will translate in wednesdays game. Or it be great if these guys just get together and come up with ways to see how fans and media will react... "Ill put out some subliminal message that im transferring- lets see the reaction" - anyway...back to Providence

Cartwright was not injured Saturday, was slowed by stomach virus as noted by Cooley. He will play.

There was also an even worse post by Ponds saying how he is unhappy in his current situation. It was quickly deleted.

The irony is if you go by what these kids say, you would think Ponds is the one looking to transfer and Lovett looking to stay. Lovetts post game quotes are very positive . Ponds had an ominous tweet about being unhappy. But you never know till the end of the season. These kids are fickle.

I hope Ponds looks at the positive things that he has accomplished and gets his play back to where it was. However it is hard to thing that all of the changes that go on at St. John's that upset us as fans don't impact an 18 year old Freshman.

But not only are teens " fickle" and subject to changes, so are adults.......
Furthermore who knows what Ponds might have meant - perhaps nothing more than he's unhappy WITH LOSING
aren't we all
Let's get real - and avoid needless disappointment - playing a better team on the road
Forget the W
How about we make a solid effort, play hard
For 2016-17 that seems to be a reasonable goal
Effort not Ws!
All the best

PS we love you Mr. Ponds keep on keeping on
:)

You're so right. Of course, immediately after the draft, I thought I had picked a winner.

At one point in the second half he was hobbling, Cooley took him out and they were commenting about it.

Going to a point raised earlier by Pautlzman I believe it is important to ban social media for the season. These are young kids and they write stupid things that do not help the current situation.

Len Elmore did a nice job calling our game on Sunday pointing out the lack of ball movement and 1 on 1 play. They have several guys who can penetrate, the key though is to dish to the open man. We are not dishing instead we are forcing shots up. Specifically, Bashir. Hopefully this can change and we will be in a bit more better shape.
Hoping just to see competitive basketball for the rest of the year at least at home games.

Love the optimism, but we NEVER win at Providence. It's not just us. The place is so damn depressing that every road team goes in at a disadvantage. The Friars are used to dealing with the suckitude, everybody else has to try to adjust.
