Providence RedFan/Johnnies Fans Meetup Friday 5PM Union Station Brewery

I didn't know where to post this so I put it here.

Amica Mutual Pavillion is nice enough looking from the outside facade, but inside needs a complete overhaul.

The seats themselves are mostly fine, holding only 11,700 or so not too many bad seats, even the lower 200's are more like the 100's at the Garden. No seat is too far from the court.

That being said, the concessions are terrible, the hallway dank and smelly, the lines too long, and worst of the worst is the bathroom situation.

Men's rooms have three urinals and two stalls, and the lines were always extremely long because you have to have more urinals than three.

The ceiling scoreboard/Screen is from the 1990's, very poor quality, and the sound system muffled and very poor. I think for a concert it would be awful.

PVD has to upgrade this place, with renovations it could be a lot more fun.

It was an odd venue. The town is nice as well as the area around the arena. Saw very little security, were the screeners when you entered turned on? Seemed like no one was that concerned about checking tickets. After the game there were no police to direct traffic with the crowd flowing out in the street.

Agreed. A guy I was talking to from Providence in the morning at Union Station warned me about the bathroom situation.

Good thing I took his advice and planned my bathroom trip 3 mins before the half ended.

The audio was terrible. Couldn’t hear anything from where I was sitting.

The town was cool thought.

Agree Andrew. Providence is a great city and area around the arena was very nice place to walk around. But arena itself could use some sprucing up as BJR pointed out and security was pretty relaxed. Enjoyed a great dinner with BJR Friday at Italian restaurant Capriccio on Pine Street.

I was waiting for you guys at a brewery on Friday...unfortunately since I saw the Trinity Brewery near the arena and my hotel I went there., not the Union Brewery.

I went there in 1974 for the Ocean State Classic which we ended up winning, beating Providence in the final by snapping their 41 game home winning streak. I wish I could say it hasn't changed in those 51 years, but since it was 51 years ago, I'm lucky I remembered being there at all.

Although I do distinctly remember beating South Carolina who had a player from NJ by the name of Jackie Gilloon. Can't forget that name.
