Providence (MSG), Sat., Feb. 1, 12 NOON, CBSSN

So interesting to hear all the different takes.

One side says if we play like this against so and so we lose this game. Which honestly who the heck knows if that’s true or not.

Other side says how awesome a learning experience to blow a big lead Miss 3 potential free throws which would have pushed lead higher but doesn’t only for the team to hit 2 big shots down the stretch and come out with a win.

I take the second approach. What a great learning experience. To not lose full composure and be able to regroup at the end is huge for confidence. Against any team. This would have a been a brutal loss. BUT IT WASNT.

To me it’s a great invaluable win.

Was weird. It was a blowout and we all kind of fell asleep, including the team. Thankfully they sort of woke up in time.
It was halfway thru the second half, up 19, and I said well, we should put in Vince, Prey and Glover here.

Rick did just that (minus Prey) and that unit promptly gave back 10 points.

So he put the starters back in and I figured that would stop the bleeding but instead Providence just kept hitting shots.

All the moves were the right ones, it just blew up on us. As you say, weird. A "stuff happens" situation. Everything was according to plan until then.

Yeah I wouldn’t bash the defense that kid Rahim was just in the zone today 8-11 the rest of the guys like Pierre and Joseph we held to 1-7 each from 3 it just sucks that both the ones they made were late in big spots.

Great teams execute in big moments. A 20 point win wouldn't prove as much as having 1 possession +3 to win a tie game, and running the shot clock all the way down with the guy you wanted with the ball in his hands.

Anyone want to stand by their bullshit expert commentary from December about this kid.

A milllion $$? Is that all? Lol
Hey Beast, just because Kadary looks like the Kadary from last year now, it doesn't take away the fact that he stunk in December.

I'm just glad that he's in shape now, and we now have the Kadary from SHU here with us.

How one play can change a game/narrative. We still collapsed down the stretch but we ultimately don’t really sweat this one out if not for that RJ giveaway off the steal that would been a 3 on 1 for us but instead ended up as a 3 for Providence to cut the lead to 1

Missed free throws down the stretch almost bit us
Guys are going to miss shots. It was our defense in the second half that almost bit us. We stopped playing defense. Listen to Coach Pitino’s press conference. He said, they played losing defense in the second half and he said that guys just simply were not doing their jobs defensively.

I think RJ after the steal threw the ball ahead because he mistakenly thought defender was going to be right up on him when he turned up court. It turned out he had room just to continue his dribble.

Did they ask Rick about the bizarre Scott for Kadary sub with 2:40 to go?
