Providence Game

They are moving on every screen and it isn't being called.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

It's been blatantly obvious on several of their screens. I'd talk to the refs before the start of the half, if I was Lavin. Those moving screens have given Providence an advantage on some of their makes.

The Beast is finally waking up. Let's get the job done tomorrow, or there is not tomorrow after that. Win tomorrow and become a wrecking crew. Lose tomorrow and it become a season that could have been. Beasts are most dangerous with their backs to the wall.

B-E-A-S-T-S

Waiter, I'll order a second half just like the first please.

I don't know who this team is but I want them to stick around for the rest of the season.

If we win tonight, and then Sunday.... It's a totally new season the remainder of the way.

Excellent!

WOW!! Unbelievable!! The most complete half of basketball they've played all year. Now lets finish this in the second half. No let up and know going into a half court offense trying to run clock. That's not who we are and we shouldn't play like that.

too bad this isn't Duke or Syracuse etc on the receiving end of this demonstration of our potential.
The defense has been terrific. Sampson terrific.
Jordan an energy bomb. If Harrison doesn't force shots his half would have been just fine.
And the "BIG O" is coming into this own simultaneously with Jordan emerging and Sampson demonstrating
why he was once Rookie of the Year.
Even PG limited his role to things he can do reasonably well. What a half.

60 straight minutes of near perfect basketball. If you throw in all but the last 5 seconds of the Creighton game, it is 80 minutes.

Ok. The season really rests on tonight, and there is no longer even the sliver of a margin should we lose. WHEN we win tonight, we will have lost two at home and won two on the road. We have to run the table at home - doable - and then win two additional games on the road to have a slender chance of a big. More likely we have to win tonight, run the table at home, and only lose one more road game. So frickin tough, that essentially for us, the NCAA tournament starts tonight. If you get swept by Providence, no matter how improved they are (and they are a good team), we don't deserve to dream anymore.

I feel confident. Not overconfident, but if our guys play the way we have the last 4 games, I like our chances. Guys are understanding roles. We are deeper up front now that GG has fought his way (good choice of words) into the rotation, Obekpa shows signs of life, and ROY Sampson has returned. Each guard is playing reasonably well, and sooner or later Jordan is just going to go off. If Harrison brings an A game, 9-16 or so with 2-3 bombs, we can get the hell out of PRovidence with a W before it snows.

Jordan going off. That spin and attempted dunk would have been on every sports reel had he slammed it.

Sampson - awesome

Harrison got us off well.

Great half of basketball. Game not over. Keep it going boys.

Will PC make a run?

They will, as they are a decent team, and they're playing at home.

The key is to continue to stymie their runs, as we did in the first half.

If we continue our play, and the refs decides to call the moving screens, then this is gonna be a wrap.

Pretty sure Providence came into this a tad overconfident until we smacked them in the mouth.

Time to finish them off.

Shortened rotation and full court press is wearing them down.
