Providence, Fri., Dec. 20, 8p, FOX

My contribution to the game thread: SJU won a BE road game in a house of horrors for them, despite missing about 100 free throws. There is something about this team that is maddening, but they are gutsy and good.

Good job again to all here for lighting a fire under this team’s arse with all the bipolar posts.

Nice win.

That was excruciating….. 42% from the line?????????? Peculiar substitutions? Say what you want but PC is mediocre at best and without their best player????

Either this team is just not that good or Pitino was severely outcoached. PC made one lay up after another.

Deivons best game as a Johnny. Love that Zuby got the shot at the end.

Biggest Q. Why the hell didnt pitino get the ball over half court and draw up a play with 10 seconds left? Team had no idea what to run.

Either way, a win is a win, and this PC team is a team that a tournament contender has to beat. Finally we get a bounce our way.

11-26 from the foul line is awful though and not sure how a great coach puts up with that kind of giving away free points consistently
He's not putting up with it. It isn't like we've done that all year. We are shooting 70% as a team from the line, and that's with Smith and Richmond being subpar from the stripe thus far.

You guys can nitpick at the bad stuff about this game all you want. This is the type of game good teams have on the road all the time.

I'm choosing to focus on this being a GREAT W. An inexplicably bad shooting game, in one of the toughest road environments in the league, and we come out with a W on a buzzer beater.

This is game we lose 10 out of 10 times the last decade+. It was gritty with a capital "G".

Because rather than let Providence design something, we were going with Dev on a PNR with the ball in his hands, which worked all game and which worked the play before.
