Tonight's game will feature coach Wright who will work the refs constantly....knowing coach Anderson doesn't do as much whining....I hope someone else does...we win Tonight!

I am not buying into this being a signature game for the program.  It is a good litmus test, but we already know we are not on Nova's level yet.  That is why, if we are competitive tonight and possibly make Nova sweat, it won't change my opinion of where we are.

Last thought.......it will never happen, but just once I would love to play Nova at a sold out Carnesecca Arena.

At this point, Wright barely has to work the refs.

Don't be suprised if new President Rev. Brian Shanley is at tonight's St. John's basketball game.

Wonder who he'll be rooting for on Saturday?/media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Jay Wright has a 0-3 record as a head coach (Hofstra) at Carnesecca Arena.

Really looking forward to tonight's game. I guess we won't know Greg's status until gametime. Nova pretty much plays 7 guys so would be nice to have Greg to go legit 9 deep and maybe wear them down a bit with our pressure.

Oddsmakers have Vill an eight and one half point favorite at SJU. Taking COVID into consideration make them around ten point favorites on a neutral court. This made me think how close college basketball teams are talent wise this season when you consider Vill is rated the third best team in the country and SJU probably around seventy fifth.
Going a step further and thinking about next season with the SJU roster mainly returning with an added year of experience and perhaps a productive big man maybe SJU is not as far from moving into the twenty five as certainly I thought not too long ago.

I don't understand it, but why doesn't any hold a "healthcare" night for vaccinated people?  They could admit vaccinated people.  It would be great for morale both for fans and teams.  Show prof of vaccination at the door. I'm surprised bars and restaurants haven't jumped on this yet.

I wouldn't qualify, but that's a great idea.  Honor healthcare workers in a safe way and get some fans in attendance.  My guess is the state does not permit it.

Would have to have had both doses and wait two weeks after the second dose from everything I've heard to be safe. Season would be over for most fans by then.

Healthcare workers would come in handy in case one of them passes out from heat exhaustion in the upper level

30 minutes to tip off
both FanDuel and MGM have SJU +9.5 over 150.5

take the Johnnies plus the points see if you can buy the extra pt for 10.5.

But if we win it will.  I don't  expect it either but.....

The refs will be a major factor in tonight's game.

if the refs allow Posh and Dunn reasonable play against Gillespie (sp?) then St. John's will be competitive.  If the refs are overprotective in Gillespie's favor then we have concerns.
