As Cooley and a number of posters said, SJU is a different team w/o Heron, so having him should help on the boards where PC killed us last time. The Dunk is tough, but PC has lost there more than usual as their young team struggles. Lastly if they keep zoning us, would love to see Figgy at foul line with his nice mid range game & ability to find right guys at good spots.

Expecting another tough BE road game v a coach who has fared well against SJU, but I like our chances a lot.

Losing to Xavier over the weekend and at home , might awaken the Friars . They had nothing going for them from outside and didn’t try many 3’s . They are not good shooters usually anyway . Although Reeves can hit from outside . I tbink playing Keita and Roberts more can give us some height against them . And , help keep Clark on the floor instead of sitting with a towel on the Bench . Between them, Roberts and Keita have 10 fouls and against PC , Mullin should use every one of them . Let’s see if their bigs can make free throws and not give up the and ones , that kill us . Containing Diallo is a key to winning .

We beat Cooley up in RI more than we do in NY.

If Figgy plays under control, he is incredibly effective. Love his game and smartness on the court!

Most JUCO kids take awhile to adapt to the style of ball played in D-1
Figgy is as smooth as silk and fit right in like peanut butter and jelly
While I like all of our guys, he's my favorite player on this year's team

Right on with the rebounding differential - 43 to 23. Diallo, who was off offensively, grabbed 15 of those 43. Watson and Jackson hurt us at the foul line shooting 14 for 18. Can't allow Watson to get the ball down low, Clark obviously in danger of fouling out once again.
Ponds and Figgy only double figures scorers. Of course we were without Heron.
Have to do a better job on Duke. Can't expect Diallo to have another off night offensively.

Gut says we turn over their guards more and have a solid start.

They are a very tough match-up for us offensively. The keys to the game in my opinion will be us shooting well, keeping them off the offensive glass and most importantly we need to turn them over and get out and run so they can mot dictate half court tempo.

Tough matchup or not, you simply can't get swept by a 4-9 team. How would look, they're 2-0 vs. you, but 3-9 vs. Everyone else.

And no, beating villanova doesn't excuse them if they get swept by pc.
To me that would be embarrassing.

Agree.

IMO, they aren't so much of a tough matchup if we adapt to what they did the previous time we played 'em. I'd pressure the ball and use more zone.

Yes but having MH play and as our bench continues to improve w/quality minutes = big difference from our game #1 loss.

St. John's opens as a 1-point underdog tomorrow at Providence. Have seen line already move to even in one place.

they play solid defense and are a bad matchup for us but I cant stress enough, if we hit shots, specifically 3s, we will win. We made only 2 threes in the first matchup.

Look for Clark to hit a couple, and Heron to give us an extra boost on offense. Defend like we did against Nova, rebound, rebound, rebound, and hit some 3s, and we win this.

Just have to limit easy buckets for PC because they really stink it up out there otherwise.
