Dunn
Heron
Figueroa
Earlington
Roberts
Yup. Ive been saying earlington should start back in December. Wake up mike anderson!!!!!!
It is more about minutes than who starts. Like Marcellus, but if this program is to succeed in long term, I suspect MA will invest more in Julian than ME. The latter to me is an able complementary guy, but believe Champagnie with his rebounding & savvy will be a high impact player in the BE in coming years. He does have to be more consistent with his mid range jump shooting, but my gut that will come. Happy to have both players though.
I have immense respect for your opinion and outlook regarding the Team and program Paultzman. Earlington has just started concentrating on basketball full time and look at the jump he’s made in one season after he didn’t even play last season. I know he’s not going to shoot the way he did against Creighton the rest of the season but obviously his offensive game is improving. I understand the foul trouble issue also but the only way he’s going to learn to play keep himself out of foul trouble is to play. Marcellus does so many good things out there , all the little things and now his offense is improving. I love Champ also but due to the fact that The Duke has just started concentrating fully on basketball, I don’t Think anyone really knows what his ceiling is? He might become an Anthony Glover type player , he’s a very good athlete. He finishes well on the break, fills the lanes and runs the floor well for his size and he’s a bull on the boards with great positioning . I think there’s a chance his upside might be higher than people think.
Appreciate your points, but remember Julian arrived as a 17 year old & most of his summer was spent rehabbing an injury v skill refinement like shooting drills, etc. To me his rebounding numbers & ability speak volumes. I have seen Marcellus in high school and understand his path to hoops. I just think Julian’s size, savvy & possible physical growth supports my sense of his potential. Put both on the open market & suspect Julian would get better attention. Room for both though.
Thanks Paultzman, I didn’t know that Julian was rehabbing an injury all summer. Also, wasn’t trying to diminish Champs prospects I understand his potential upside. Also, think that Earlington’s might be higher than some think, although not higher than Champ’s At this juncture. I’m also happy to have them both.
