Where'd all the providence fans go from the Friar Talk message board?  Zero talk about the game over there.  They have a more active board?

Some activity here:  https://247sports.com/college/providence/board

(WARNING: the Friars board contains posts of fans taking shots at players, the coaches, recruiting and tactics.  Not the type of stuff you would ever see on Redmen.com :)  )

They appear to be very down on Cooley...  who in fairness has attracted good talent but has maybe under-achieved?   They were very poor against the Hall, we need to be ready for some blowback.

If they're really down Nichols and Bynum is still out we've got to win this. We're hot, they're not. We've got decent depth, they lack depth. We've had trouble in their gym in the past but that's mitigated by the lack of fans this season. Watson and Duke are tough but we've got guys too. No excuses.

They can lose this game and still make the tournament and they can miss the tournament and we can still view this as a a season where the team takes a step foward, etc...but if THIS season's team is going to be the one that breaks through and shows that they're different from most of our teams of the last 10-15 years then they should go 2-0 this week. I know both games are away but if they're a real tournament team that's going to finish in the top half of the conference then they should win both. We're not going to Creighton and Seton Hall. This is Providence (mediocre this year) and Butler (not good this year)

If they handle their business and go 2-0 that goes a long way toward convincing me that this team is the real deal. If we're 1-1 we're the definition of a bubble team (which isn't the worst thing) if we go 0-2, well we've seen that movie before.

If we play the way we have been, we will win this game.  Need the same defensive intensity for 40 minutes.  Learning how to win is a real thing and it seems like we are.  A win tomorrow would put us on good footing.

pick ‘em game per early line

FWIW, ESPN has PC at a 58% chance of winning.  I bet that's largely due to being at home.

St. John's guard Greg Williams Jr. (back) practiced fully today, per source. Would think he'll be good to go tomorrow. #sjubb

2 weeks ago we would have been 6-8 point dogs. How quickly things can change

Granted we won our last three games, but bigs have had their way in the paint.  Cooley knows this and Nate will get the ball.

Pauly Paulicap-  16pts, 16rbs
Theo John-   16pts, 8rbs
Robinson-Earl-  14pts, 17rbs
Nate Wartson- ???

I'd say that's a reasonable guess.  Let's hope Posh answers with 17 points and 92 steals.

My Money is on Felony Alexander :)

50/50 game tomorrow. Would really help to have Greg available to help guard the 6'5" Duke. No reason we can't win, just a feeling we're due for a cold game shooting as we've shot over 40% from three the last couple of games.  Have a feeling it will be a low scoring dogfight.

As long as we keep the perimeter locked down, they can have some down there. Our problems rise when they are killing us down low and outside. It's hard to lock down everything.. they can have a couple of points down low. I think about the perimeter more now. They won't get too many down low.
