You can point to the one TO he had, I thought he was fouled, but it was his two passes that lead to 4 crucial free throws to help seal it. If it’s not posh it’s him. Smith has shown nothing to suggest he’s a better option at the point than him IMO.
Smith has been an enigma this year because he hasn't shot the ball consistently and has spent much of the last few games on the bench. That said he has been a reliable ball handler with a 39 to 18 Assist to Turnover Ratio which has been 16 to 2 in the Big East. I agree that Wusu is an excellent passer and is currently one of the primary ballhandlers with Posh. If Posh is out it makes sense to me that Smith would play more.

This is something I thought was possible when this roster was constructed and remarked recently when the wheels appeared to be falling off. I was mocked for it, but the truth is that we have the broadest rotation in recent memory and each guy can contribute something of value and play at the Big East level. With a CMA team you have to be patient. Thank God he has it, Cragg has it, and most of our fans do too.NCJohnnie post=455711 said:We've finally gotten to a point where all 10 guys are capable of making contributions each game to greater or lesser degrees. That should help down the stretch.
I'm glad to see you admit you aren't an expert on ethics or anything. I was getting worried that you though you were.Monte post=455706 said:Not that I'm an expert on ethics or anything, like some of you guys, but it sounds to me like Wright's behavior is, at the very least, borderline unethical. Thank god we never hired him as our coach.

I'm a little dismissive of the assist to turnover ratio, although I appreciate you pointing it out. The demands of funning the offense and bringing the ball up against pressure will cause turnovers to increase. I do agree with you that Smith will get an opportunity for more minutes should Posh be unavailable, but I believe that minutes will be grabbed by the most effective guards, no matter who startsAndrew post=455708 said:Amaseinyourface post=455692 said:When posh went out tonight we were tied. I agree with you. The flip side is that we also seem to allow some pretty good looks for 3's as the shot clock is expiring. So to avoid that, our guys try to force a bad shot, and if they are late to the ball their momentum carries them into the shooter.Section9 post=455729 said:We have to cut down on fouling when they have the ball late in the shot clock and going nowhere with it, that happened a few times in the last game. It's maddening because you play good D for 24-5 seconds and then one of our guys gets antsy and reaches in or bodies up and gets called.
It's sarcasm. I wasn't being serious. I woulda hired Bernie Madoff if he knew how to coach.SJU85 post=455726 said:Monte post=455706 said:Not that I'm an expert on ethics or anything, like some of you guys, but it sounds to me like Wright's behavior is, at the very least, borderline unethical.
