"It's a must win because of the following 3 games.
If they go 2-2 that would be good.
1-3 and they'll be on life support.
0-4 dead"

A s I said, if we go 2-2 then I hope one of the L's are again Duke. As much as I hate Duke and rat face, it doesn't go in conf record, conf games are more important even though this would have been a huge resume builder.
Gotta get the Marquette or go on life support, yeah it will be real hard to win there, well they made their own bed when losing to G-Town (who was 2-4 coming into msg.

They have 5 of 6 at home to finish February, if they go on life support, then they'll basically need to win 5 of those 6.
So yeah they gotta win Tuesday, you never want to go on life support.

I don’t think we are gonna win this but if we do we have a chance to really go on a roll with a 3 game home stand after this.

Obviously a very tough game on road v s hot team. In both our wins over them at CA over past two seasons we soundly beat them with being physical & also defending Howard very well.

Not sure we can replicate that at their place, but would like to think our experienced nucleus can step up and at very least be in it down the stretch. Veteran players and teams do that. Can our’s?

I hope Mullin uses Greg Williams a little for defensive purposes. I really like his quickness.

At our place or there's it's the samn damn game, only difference is their fans will get loud and try to give them energy, so counter that and play pissed, get up in their grill, harass the ball handler.
And don't no show like today/

In the first game Howard had a terrible shooting night but SJU also showed what an inferior defensive player he is. Ponds has to take him one on one and if Howard moves over tocover Simon, Simon has to produce down low.
If that don't work Mullin should consider playing Clark and Kieta at the same time forcing Howard to cover Ponds or LJ who will both eat him up or force Marq into a zone which they don't like to do.

Very tough but winnable game
Marquette is a good team and has been hot in Big East play
If we play with the same intensity as we did against Creighton, it's doable

This will the defining game of this Season for most of our starting 5 players . No, make that their Career , excluding Fiiggy . We need a Road win against a top 10 team and a team still in the hunt for the BE Crown . We played Marquette well at CA but, need that effort and play in Milwaukee . Losing so badly at Duke might ignite a fire in this team . It should .

Beating a Top 10 team on the road and sweeping them would greatly enhance our NCAA resume

Maybe the slap in the face today, will piss them off enough to help them play the game focused for 40 minutes of team ball, and maybe we can get out of there with a W.

Marquette is undefeated at home this year I believe, so this won't be an easy game at all. Chance to make a huge statement here and prove we belong in the tourney.

This isn't free money like the Duke game but this is going to be very difficult for several reasons. 1) I think it is clear Marquette is a better team..2)They are playing at home where they have not lost yet and 3)They will have the added motivation of wanting some payback after SJU put a nice whooping on them in early January. Marquette also knows if they want to win the conference with Nova undefeated they will almost have to run the table at home.

Again it is not out of the question SJU can win this game but I am not counting on it. They got the must win in this 3 game stretch Creighton. At this point I am just hoping for a 10-8 season and even with a loss to Marquette that is still doable.

We beat them once we can beat them again.
Hopefully the players and coaches use the Duke loss as motivation and take it out on the Dookie Wojo.

I think we beat Marquette Tuesday.
Despite being the epitome of inconsistency, there’s great pride in these guys and despite being expected to lose to Duke by the entire Hoops World at Duke, I think a 30-point blowout will motivate our guys to play together, play intense on Tuesday , and win.
Thinking we go 11-7 in BE, with losses to Providence and DePaul away.
Hoping for that at any rate.

I think we lose to Marquette and then go on a tear. Maybe even finish with 10 BE wins.

Of course, it has to be this way. We must always dig ourselves a huge hole over the first half of the conference schedule because we are St. John's.

We’re the poster boys of inconsistentcy, masters of the unexpected, magicians of the superfluous spin/dribble/alley-‘oops’, doctors of the dumb ‘3’...
And we will beat Marquette this Tuesday.
Book it, Dan-o.

Actually like the idea of starting Kieta and Clark, let Simon be 1st guy off bench. High energy guy. Can maybe spell Clark early as soon as he picks up his first foul. Feel like mixing things up a little can’t hurt.
