I am wondering if our guys will hit more than one three in a big east game.

This might be the best stat in our favor. Just keep shooting and they're bound to fall.

Coach Anderson can only do so much miracle-coaching. We were in position to win every game this season. Offensive lack of ability has been prevalent and the talent level is just not there. That said, we CAN shoot better than we are shooting and our “best” shooters if there are any are struggling to make any shots.

I'd really expect this to be close to a pick em game at GT with GT a 1 point favorite at best. Don't see how we lose tonight if our shooting improves even a little bit which is bound to happen against a so-so Gtown defense. Just don't put them on the line a lot - they shoot free throws well.

How do we win a game in confr ? Last two games we were 1-17 and 4-22 from 3. Are we to believe that all of a sudden we are going to be a good shooting team I hope so!,
Also how is it Georgetown can come up with 2 ,6-11/players and we can not?
Also what is your opinion of Steere he seems to be a bust

Anderson should be having practices strictly focused on conditioning and shooting. Everything else should be put on hold until we start knocking down shots.

Steere is a non factor and is not playing this year. Roberts and Sears are much better then him so he is going to be riding the pine. The dream that we had some skilled big coming in is over. He is not that.

I agree this is a winnable game. The Johnnies need to steal this road win. At least make the NIT this season.

Looking forward to a competitive game. Go Johnnies!
Because of their depleted roster Georgetown is the perfect opponent for SJU. In addition to utilizing a pressure defense for the whole game SJU should adandon some of their three point attempts which have not been falling to taking the ball to the rim more often.
Georgetown will be playing to avoid getting into foul trouble which might create some easy penetration baskets.
It might behoove Ewnig to start playing a zone due to his short bench.

Let's guard the pants off of McClung. I hate seeing guys like him on other teams constantly having good games against us. In this case with now having MA as coach I think we shut down McClink.

US, we are not going to be a good shooting team this year. However we don't need to be a good shooting team to have pretty fair success going forward. We beat two top 20 teams in West Virginia & Arizona w/o shooting much better than the numbers above. Having said that, I expect we can shoot a better percentage than we've been shooting and while not being a "good" shooting team, not be abysmal. I'd be very surprised if LJ, & Heron don't wind up the year with better shooting percentages than they have right now. If we win the next two very winnable games, we'll be 13-4 and on track to have a better year than most here thought likely going in, all while playing a very exciting brand of basketball.

As for Steere, very premature to label him a bust after playing a total of six minutes in two games. None of us would want to be written off after our first two days on the job. I'll wait to have an opinion until he's played 8 to 10 games.

The kid loves to shoot. Can't guard him too closely , likes to power to the basket, prefer he bomb from outside.Watch Blair's three point shots, always seems to hit them against us.

Agree that CMA has done about as much as any coach could do with this group. We knew it was going to be a tough year even if Heron and Fig played as we had hoped. If I had to nitpick, the only things I would question are some of his substitution patterns, and maybe running some more plays on offense. But again, that’s nitpicking. Let’s hope we can grab a win tonight. One game at a time.

I have to agree with Jack of Virginia who calls for run, run, run, and press, press, press. This is what this team does best. Will the threes start to fall because of the law of averages? Some night but probably not tonight.
The only shooting statistic that is not pathetic is the almost forty seven per cent from two point range which seems too good to believe watching this team and is probably due to the easy baskets off the steals and turnovers this team generates.
This is what this team does very well. They will never be a decent three point shooting team.Ramp up the pressure against a depleted Georgetown and tone down the twenty threes a game they have been attempting.
I can guarantee that Ewing is hoping we throw up over twenty threes.

Matt's gonna score--let him get his 20. make sure no one else gets it going. They are only playing 6 guys so run them up and down the floor and hopefully depth will prevail.

Familiar position for Johnnies - must win game in game 3. Getting out of the gates at 0-2, has dug a shallow hole for them. Yes, we were not favored in either game, but this is a winnable game tonight, and there will be much more enthusiasm heading into Saturday if they focus on business and break the ice here.

Yes, this is not supposed to be a big year, but CMA has already shown that even with a less than a loaded team, our guys can play with some pretty good squads and beat them.

Absolutely agreed. Let's face it, at this point in time, the best way for us to score is high pressure defense and fast break offense. We can't shoot. But this is a must win game for those who expect to be playing in March. Personally, I view making the tournament as a very pleasant big surprise, I cant expect a first year HC to bring us there given the state of the team.

Also, the BE needs to have teams play 3 times a week. Twice a week is not enough for my fix. Go Johnnies.
