A stupid question but why are you bringing it up ?
As a Mets fan, I ask every year how much longer are we paying Bonilla. Gentle reminder of learning from the past :)
It all starts with Govan. He’s clearly the best Big Man in the Big East and will be handful for anybody that tries to guard him. I expect Sedee and Marvin Clarke to struggle all night.

The second thing we need to worry about is Akinjo. The kid is only 18 and he’s already a high level Big East point guard ( huge steal by Patrick). Even though he’s 18 you have to put Simon on him all game because he can control tempo and get to the basket.

Mclung is the wild card here. Is he going to be the Mclung who dropped 38 against Little Rock or is he going to struggle with his shot?

* Sidenote: Has Patrick given an update on his ankle?

This should be a close game since it’s their homecourt season opener.
We will see. Mullin teams like to double down on big guys, especially when they post. It's annoying as heck getting harrassed by the double and if you don't do something quickly with the ball you might lose it. Athleticism over height.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see this one as an easy road win. I'll go with Johnnies in a close game 83-78. Seems like the perfect BE game to give Roberts a couple of minutes towards the end of the first half to protect Keita or Clark but picking up that extra foul just before half time.

What have you seen from Roberts that would warrant giving him minutes in the first half? Chris has only used him in garbage time at the end of games so obviously he doesn't have confidence in him. If he hasn't seen time in the ooc sked then why use him now? If anything you'll see Trimble and even Williams long before Roberts.

That little leprechaun ain't scoring 38 on us...that is for sure. He will probably catch a few dunks though.

I think we could run away with this one unless Govan and co. are just raining threes and we get into some foul trouble. This is a CBS game man. Biggest audience of the year.

This game is huge , national tv, Mullin versus Ewing , the greatest of the great in the day when the Big East was tops in college ball. No doubt the Seton Hall call will be brought up and it will be discussed how our record could be 14-0. Good chance Nate Tabors commitment following the Marquette beating will be brought up. A win on national tv to take us to 14-1 would be unbelievable and keep the positive pub flowing. This is what it is all about for those who have never been part of a top 25 team. Let’s go Redmen.
St. John’s opens as 2 pt favorites v GTown
That's consistent with BPI, which gives us a 56.9% chance of victory.

Why does every frigging conference game seem like the biggest, most important game of the year? Because I guess they are. This one is very important to win. You have to take 2 from the weaker teams in conference.

I hope we repeat our Marquette game efforts and get them in foul trouble early and avoid that same challenge.
Go St. John's.

Govan is truly the only player that worries me I Think our experience , speed , and athleticism will be too much for them and I say we win 85-70 Let’s Keep the momentum rolling!!!

Govan always seems to get his 15 points but he usually scores a bunch from the outside and does not use his height as much as he should. If we are top 25 good then we should win this game and the next, while Villanova is reeling a bit. Our guys are playing well.

It feels that way because aside from having a win stolen from us by refs, we are undefeated. And every win is a step towards our goal. Every loss, especially with our record, feels like a big step backward. I just want the team to focus and play both halves. Play the type of defense that we are capable of, and their offense won’t be able to touch us. Time to win there finally in D.C. Every win is important. Let’s keep it rolling.

Ps. We shoulda been ranked in the top 25 a while ago but no matter. Let’s just keep proving we belong. People still aren’t sold on us. Let’s sell them...
