I don't care if we're #38 with only one vote if we win at Georgetown then I expect to be in the top25 come Monday.
We then should be 15-0, but because of the refs we're not. That would be some major bs
Just keep winning and we will eventually get ranked. Being ranked right now means jack.

Interesting Georgetown won in Indy even with two important players out. Coming off of that horrid loss to Florida, Looking like butler is gonna be in the basement of the big east this year.

I sent lots of $$ to Georgetown as my son was an undergrad there. (Yeah I know, that was hard to take for 4 years, and my son relished that they typically beat the hell out of us). Hoping to beat them BADLY Saturday.

Yes,worry that there is a big talent diff btw govan and Kieta but if we double down we leave perimeter open for 3s perhaps we can get him in some foul trouble and keep him off the court for a while. We need more games like lour last and we can beat them.Size will always be a problem all yr but talented bigs make it worse

With good reason, Georgetown is better than anticipated.

We should've beaten the Hall away--who is a better team than G*Town and also has size.
Got to play with an edge, a vow to never let the refs decide a game...again.
If we use our bench a bit and play close to how we played against Marquette, we'll win.

We proved we can handle adversity well by blowing out Marq after being robbed and also blowing the SH game. Let's see how we handle prosperity coming off a blow out win. Gut says we stay focused and play well.

Think we take this one easily. They don't have the guard play necessary to hang with us. Akinjo is good but he is going to have a hell of a night with all the guys we can throw at him. We need to put him and McClung in the low post like we did with Howard. Govan might get his but it wont be easy for him. Our low post D was great against Marquette. Keita looked quick out there didnt expect that so soon; he should be able to contest Govan outside along with Clark. This year that will be the biggest thing he can bring to our team his mobility and energy on D not worried about him scoring. If we win these next two games I think we lock up a reg season championship. Gtown and Nova aren't beating us at our place. Providence lost to Creighton at home and Butler did the same against the Hoyas. The only games i think we lose are @Marq, @Creigh, @But and maybe drop one at home. That gets us to 13-5 (25-6 with a Duke loss likely) before the BE tourney. Need to keep taking it one game at a time and not overlook anybody but the league looks vulnerable and we need to take advantage.

Playing Gtown on the road is always tricky but we should win this one. Besides Butler they have beat no one and have 3 loses to teams outside the rpi top 100. Let’s get to 2-1 and keep the mo rolling.

Agree here. People make fun our our schedule but I think Georgetown’s schedule is worse and may leave them not quite prepared for a team with our firepower. They haven’t played anybody good. Syracuse was awful when they played that game and Illinois I believe was missing their best player and they aren’t world-beaters. It’s always a tough game and it’s on the road, but I think we have too much for them. Also not sure MacLung is gonna play and regardless, I don’t think he has enough to get past guys like Simon.

We should beat Gtwon at home, but it's kind of a trap game coming off the huge win Tuesday and just before the game with defending champs. Also, Gtown has multiple bigs (Govan, Mourning, LeBlanc & Pickett) who could give us some trouble down low & on the offensive boards. I'll be very relieved to get through this one with a W.

Winning on the road is a skill and SJU hasn't had it with this team. 7-14 away the last 2 years.

Awful call notwithstanding, we saw a lot of similar bad qualities down the stretch against SHU that largely prevented us from finishing winnable games on the road last year when we were 2-7. Tired legs, ball stopping on almost everyone who touches it, poor shot selection, and generally getting away from the pace that put us in great position to win the first 30+ minutes.

That's not a recipe for success and there are no easy wins away from home in this league. This is an opportunity to demonstrate that SHU was a first game letdown in a challenging environment and that this team has the ability not just to get in position but to close games on road. Crucial to getting to desired conference win total.

This really has to be a win. We have to sweep 3-4 teams to get a decent seed with this round-robin format. We also need to be 5-4 on the road IMO.

I see no reason we can't walk out of the next two games with a a 3-1 conference record.

Illinois is 4 & 10. After Butler their best win is Liberty.

I just read on their board Gtown students are still on break so their crowd will be down.

Yeah, which is why running into us right now might be a little bit of a shock. They haven’t had to cover any teams with a starting 5 like ours. The speed is going to change real fast for them. We need to use that to our advantage and come out of the gate strong. It’s hard to adjust to if we keep coming hard at them and spreading them out.

Pressure their young talented guards full court with our longer athletes. Mix in zone to negate their bigs and make them a jumpshooting team in half court.

Run at every opportunity to keep game likely faster than their guards have seen yet at this level and have their bigs trailing the play.

Don't worry about giving Govan a few easy buckets per half, just don't foul in that situation and accept the tradeoff on the other end where Govan either has to guard Clark out to the 3 line which opens up driving lanes or plays in help leaving Clark open spot up looks where he is so comfortable.

This may be the first game all year where we can really use this last piece to our advantage, not an easy answer unless they want to zone us which is fine too the way we are shooting the ball (40.2% as a team from 3, T-11 in country).

Been a long time since there wasn't an easy out in game prepping for an SJU team offensively. Pretty complete team on that end of the floor.
