To Marillac’s “delight” :)

Justin Simon (migraine) said he'll be fine for Saturday
I'm very happy he's playing. He'll be needed on Zion and on the glass. It'd be great if he played within his game tomorrow. It'd also be great if he played 25-28 minutes instead of 37.

I don't expect to win tomorrow, but we are talented enough to do so if we fire on all cylinders and stay out of serious foul trouble. Sooner or later Duke will lose another out of conference game at Cameron.
I also agree this is a can't lose game so long as we don't get blown out. I expect both Shamorie & Mustapha to be super motivated given the national exposure of this game and what it can do for their draft prospects. We all remember what it did for Mo's.
Not sure why, but strongly sense the series with Duke willl not be renewed.
Ugh I missed this. Is this just a pure hunch?

I have the same feeling after last year's game. ESPN/ACC couldn't have been happy with an 0-11 Big East team taking down #4 Duke in front of a sold out MSG. Pathetic that all these ACC teams keep running away from us, but at the same time Cuse/Duke were the #1 highlights every year of Mullin's first 3 seasons while our RPI dragged them down.

If the series isn't renewed, then I'd like to see UNC take their spot.

Not a hunch, just an educated read from several folks.

I think it will get done. Whether it skips a year or not, I don't know. I have a few relatives at Duke...and it has a very strong NY/NJ minority there that gets amped for St. John's. It's one of the top opponents for Duke and playing in the Garden helps them not only recruit basketball players, but also students--and that is something that needs to be on the mind of all private schools looking to the future.

Johnnies should cover imo.
St. John's is an 18.5-point underdog tomorrow

“they're going to get kiled inside. That's the issue.”

I happen to agree and also Jones will be a tough defender for Ponds.

Ponds gonna break his ankle with a cross-over sending Jones on his ass. Ponds then can set take his time and a easy 3ball.
Guys gotta come proper, and bring it hard.

Smart ball movement the key for us to compete in this game. Hopefully, the refs don't screw us in Cameron.

Hope so, but Jones is adept at steering guys into traps. Ponds is savvy about responding & finding open man. Hopefully the recipient nails a shot or rotates ball to someone else. You don’t have to be a genius to know Duke will try to to deny Ponds ball or make him give it up as much as possible. Fun matchup to watch, two quality guards for sure.

Our equalizer for getting killed inside is supposed to be hitting 3s. Who knows maybe we hit 15. If we're cold we all know we have no shot. But against Creighton we scored a decent amount in the paint.

Also, just like they can kill us inside, can their big men guard the perimeter?

Wow.... that is high....was 17 for Cuse, and that was without Jones and Reddish (gametime call)... thought it be lower. Id like to think guys like Clark /Simon/Ponds care enough not to get embarrassed.... Solid comeback at Butler after being down a bit...

I might take the points
So I guess if we lose by 13, we can expect your usual negative ranting. I don't think our head coach loses any sleep over whatever negative drivel you post.
You, Al LoBovino, Motel Room 112 and your rose garden crew only seem to post your usual negative ranting about fellow fans.
I await your positive reviews if we lose by 35. Actually I'm not sure you have ever posted about a game but certainly about those that do comment on a game.
You should just change your screen name to "J'Accuse You".

I don’t know. Duke really isn’t an “inside” team. They play a 5-out also and most of their guys are slashers. Williamson can certainly get some stuff done inside with his size and athleticism but he’s not purely an inside player.

Zach isn't exactly Wooden. This is the same just described San Diego St. as a plodding team prior to our tournament game when they were one of the most athletic teams around that just couldn't shoot.

Reading some of the Duke boards and this one cracked me up:

"No one scares me. This team is on a mission. I havent felt this way about a duke team since 2015"

Damn, what a brutal existence it must be as a Duke fan! They really go through the tough times. The post came after a few posters brought up how we are usually a thorn in their side.

My friend got extra tickets to game but wants to sell at profit (but not anywhere as big as stubhub). PM me if interested.
