We'll be fine as long as Mr. Linfonte brings the IcyHot

Watching them play now and have seen them play once before. Nota tremendous amount of speed and no real interior threat on offense or defense. Our team speed and athleticism should be in our favor. We need to get them to play at our pace, on offense they really do not get to the basket on dribble penetration and therefore we should be able to stay out of foul trouble and be in good rebounding position. Looking for a W on the road if we play to our capabilities. Need to get this road win to erase the DePaul loss at home.

Would love to see back to back wins including beating Butler on the road. And I would not mind seeing a nice road win with some air in it as they say (meaning win going away).

Butler should be a good matchup for us. Watching game now and they really don't have any studs. Baldwin is solid but that's about it. The only way they hurt us is with 3's if they get hot. Right now they're pretty cold. Not a big team either and not nearly as athletic as us. That being said, watch them play the game of their lives against us lol.

I think the Butler game could be the swing game for this season. If they lose then I think they will scratch and claw to try to make the NCAA's. If they win I think they can go on a run and put themselves in position to try to win the league regular season. 3-4/4-3...
They are smacking DePaul. They have 2 bigs playing defense and the inside game is being reduced.
Guess I shouldn't have turned it off

Still think we should be able to handle Butler. We just need to make sure our defense is intense. If they have a good 3 pt shooting game we could be in trouble. But we should have more than they do on offense to take the game.

Yeah Butler went on a 17-0 run turned a 1 pt deficit into a 16 point lead...

Hope you watched the 2nd half.

Yes watched the second half. We match up with them real well. Their sole post player is an adequate offensive player. They will have real trouble playing us man.

Obviously their 2nd half was more impressive but I feel like that game was more "DePaul gon' DePaul" than a coming out party for Butler. DePaul is not a good team and they only beat us because one of our greatest players ever was out. Butler doesn't look athletic and aren't physically imposing, but they can drain 3's at a rapid rate if you fall asleep. If we play up on them enough for solid 3 pt defense I think we should come away with a W.

I certainly hope we win at Butler but since they have joined the Big East in the 2013/2014 season we have only beaten them 1 out of 5 times at Hinkle Fieldhouse. In fact after our initial seventeen point victory there in 2014 we have lost four straight times in Indiana and have never come any closer than a twenty point defeat at their place. Hopefully Saturday will be different, but overcoming these negative historical trends are usually difficult.

Won 69-52 in 2014
Lost 85-62 in 2015
Lost 78-58 in 2016
Lost 110-86 in 2017
Lost 70-45 in 2018

Oh man that loss last year was rock bottom haha. Thought we would lose every game rest of the season. Fortunately our follow up home game was a lot better.

I'm 50-50 on this one. Butler is a pretty bipolar team. They've played Florida twice this year, one time winning by 7 (N) and the other losing by 33 (A). I think the line will be Butler by a couple points, but I also think the line will be off.

Will be interesting to see if Baldwin being their obvious number one offensive weapon this Season, still gets the challenge of guarding Ponds.

Another pivotal game for us. With 4 of the next 5 on the road, really would be great to start off with a win considering the road can get very bumpy at marquette Creighton and Duke. Would settle for 2 BE wins on the road and beating Gtown at MSG, for 3-1 in BE games and a loss at Duke. Creighton will be much tougher on their own court, while beatable, and for arguments sake Marquettes would be the toughest conference away game of the 3. Butler is the best chance to win on the road, so to lose that first up would be horrible.
