Looking at the stats from the Xavier game, I see that there was a pretty even contribution from the bench as well as the starters. This takes the defensive pressure off of Champ. He scored 27 last game because he wasn't guarded as closely. (I'm guessing from the stats because I wasn't able to watch) When everyone is contributing the defensive players loosen their grip on Champ and start following other players. If we get everyone involved for the rest of the season we have a shot at having another winning season for CMA and maybe even have a Gtown type run in the BE tourney. Wouldn't that be fun?
I think that this team has finally figured it out. Now suddenly Wheeler, Soriano, Mathis et al are threats and have to be covered. I'm going with us tonight. I think that we will win this one.

I think we win this one. The team has looked much better lately and Butler is in close to last place. It shouldn’t be close.

Poll:

1. An actual positive post from Jermane.

2. A post aimed at setting a bar to criticize a later result.
I go for choice …….

3.  A fan of the program who roots hard for the team, hopes for the best, sees deficiencies with the current staff,  and is willing to speak his mind at the risk of being harassed as in the post that led to this response.

You should realize that you don't come across this way, at all.

He's full of shite.
Now that was an intelligent/appropriate response. Is that acceptable here?

Rothstein notes

Butler's Bo Hodges (muscle strain) and Bryce Nze (back) both remain game-time decisions for today's game against St. John's, per LaVall Jordan.

Of course they will play :)

It’s not quite Moore and Gillespie, but if you could pick two of their guys who matchup best in a game with us, it’s those two. Let’s hope we have better “luck” than we did vs nova.

This is a critical game, which I guess they all are now but the team has played better basketball this month. The record is three and three but the losses were to good teams , Nova , Prov and Conn and Posh missed two of them. Wheeler continues his good play, Soriano is playing better and Coburn showed a glimpse of what he can do vs Xavier.
The team is healthy and playing at CA should result in a good win making Creighton the next critical game. I feel the team is starting to show what it is capable of.

Im starting to get that feeling. I don't think that contrasting thoughts on the teams performance and staff should be met with vitriol. I am actually an alumni and big fan of this program and have been for quite some time. I have read this site for many years but just decided to join recently. I was hoping that different views would be accepted as long as they didn't contain nasty verbiage? Was I wrong to assume such? Is only praise allowed on here?

I wonder if Coach will consider bringing Posh off the bench again.  We're actually 3-0 in the Big East, when he's done that, including our two best wins.

I think he's given us a nice spark when he's done that, even if he only sits the first two minutes of the game.

Keeps our energy up and also makes it easier to stagger his and Champs breaks.

I like Posh coming off the bench as well, like you said he's just a burst of energy and it really helps around the first media timeout guys are starting to drag just a little bit, he comes in keeps that high pace going. And the thing about Posh is he's one of those guys where coming off the bench or starting doesn't make a difference to him at all he's going to still put up good numbers and be just as effective, some guys just simply be in their head and try to do too much to get their starting spot back when they get moved to the bench.

oK but do you really want Wusu to handle the point at the start of the game? I would think we want to get off to a good start.

3-0 with 3 good starts.

I like our chances for this game, which may seem obvious given we're favored, but then again I'm sure Xavier fans were confident our last game with a similar spread.

Regardless of what happens this year (good or bad ending) I do expect to win this one. If the team is going to crush our hopes they'll win this one to properly raise them before crushing them during the next couple weeks. :)

I enjoy the posts and comments

I post much less now but I wanted to note I’m over the post season, ncaa yes or no…bubble, no bubble…
I am just enjoying the good hard ball we are playing as of late!  3 tough Ls and 3 fine Ws.
I guess I’m focusing a game at a time.

as before I like our triumvirate of Head Coach, Duke raised AD and pro-sports President.

I see a nice future  - maybe inching closer to other successful Catholic non-football schools!
Where we belong

Blessings

Wusu is frustrating at times, I'm guilty of pointing out his flaws during the games, but as Amase has said, he's tied for 5th in the conference in assist and has a 4-2 A/T ratio.  He's not bad at all.  He does a lot of little things that don't show up in the box score.  He's easily been the 3rd or 4th best player on the team this year, and he's made big plays.  You don't want the ball in his hands for 30 minutes as primary ball handler, but to start the first 3 or 4 minutes, he's handled that well.

Pinzon is in uniform and available to play tonight.  That is a surprise.  That they would medical redshirt him as to not use up a year of eligibility.  Will be interesting to see how he looks tonight.
