I think the Johnnies will get this one.  They are tough at Carnesseca.  If they can win the next 2 at home, I will let myself start dreaming again.

So often the sun appears for SJ fans only to be dashed by a unexpected loss next outing. Team dug a big hole early in BE, but last night showed grit on road at extremely tough Cintas Center. Thus it is crucial to not squander Xavier upset and hold serve at home v Butler. With Posh back, I think Johnnies prevail.

I said the UConn loss Live was the knock-out punch to my expectations for this season. Last night was so pleasant to watch without my emotions in the game.... even when X took the lead in the second- didnt get mad. When SJU kept increasing the lead, was a bit surreal, esp given the venue.... Cintas has not been kind to us.

My emotional investment in this squad is still on the canvas, I will Only allow myself to get back up if we reel off 3 straight... Butler/Creighton at CA and Depaul away. We should be favorites in all 3.

Win these next three.... and CA will be ROCKIN for Xavier. That will be a tough one- tough to beat a good team twice.

Probably open around 8-8.5 point favs
That high?  Butler has been playing well and just won at depaul.  Ill say we will be favored by 4.5-5.
We closed as 2 point favs at Hinkle less than 2 weeks ago. Away to Home is about a 6 point shift. No reason to think that Butler has been playing that much better than us since then.

Agree with you. Think last night's win props up the odds

Nice call Mug.  We need to be careful of Lacosious.  He was unconscious last game for Butler.

We could be 20 point favorites and I would still be nervous about this game.

Agreed.  There's no gimme games in the BE.

I love watching our guys fight and enjoyed the hell out of last night's game, but "we are St. John's" so in my mind everyone (except perhaps Gtown this year) is a threat. I'll be watching with a certain amount of confidence, but not too much! Will be interesting to see what kind of crowd we get with weird 5 pm Friday start.

The game at Hinkle was 62 possessions, our slowest game of the season and one of only 3 games under 70 possessions for us this season. On the flip side, Butler hasn't played a 70 possession game all year. It's a big positive that we were able to win a game played at Butler's pace in their gym. Hopefully we can push the pace early and open up a decent sized lead which Butler is less likely to come back from due to their crawling style of play. Easier said than done, obviously.

very weird start time and definitely affecting whether I will go or not.

I think we win this one. The team has looked much better lately and Butler is in close to last place. It shouldn’t be close.

TRIVIA:  What time does a Jersey guy have to leave work to make it to CA for a 5pm tip off?
