Potential: St. John's in Las Vegas

The original article notes that it would go to current players
If so, that would be an enormous pay day and recruiting tool. In some ways feels unfair (Not that NIL isn’t inherently unfair but it seems like it might be a bit unfair to other conference peers). But it also seems to favor one and dones, which isn’t always in the team’s interests.

Maybe I’m thinking too linearly. The schools will know if they are playing in it next season, so they can adjust the pile ahead of time. And the second million can be a real incentive. Plus, this would be a boon to mid-majors.

And this article says they need to get out of the MTE they're already in.

Looking at the other graphic again, I think "contests" mean games within that one MTE. So its two "contests" (aka games) within five days -- not necessarily two MTEs within five days.
Ah..thanks. what i was originally thinking of only 1 MTE allowed.

I read it that way as well. I have not heard of a rule change where a team can play multiple MTE’s.

I got a feeling if they can only do one MTE next year, we will wait to do Vegas next year. The Bahamas gives us a nice NIL advantage that may come in handy. I'm sure they were thinking ahead with that one.

I've been to Vegas probably 35-40 times as Las Vegas, Orlando, and New Orleans are the 3 most popular venues for large winter conventions and professional meetings (>20,000 attendees).

It's hard to visualize the size and scope of Las Vegas strip hotels except to say 25,000 meeting attendees get swallowed up by gigantic hotels such that you may not run into a single conference attendee during downtime.

Unlike Charleston where I'd continually run into Johnny fans across the city, we'd have to make specific plans around our games. It should be lots of fun tbough. I'd try to go. Hotels aren't as cheap as they used to be but still a good value. Long gone are the days of $10 prime rib or lobster tail dinners or cheap buffets.

The “Cirque du St. John’s”, “Redman Group”, and “Wayne McKoy Newton” (that one was a stretch) shows must be a blast.

MTE fields, including Baha Mar, have been announced and some fans have made air reservations, etc. It would be very bad form to pull out of anything. Alienate enough fans (the paying customers) and you will be sorry.

Not a walking city, cabs and ubers rule the day. However, plenty of alcohol available to keep momentum flowing.

Not to mention the organizers. I can’t see any programs pulling out of announced events.

If these other MTEs were smart, they'd all have NIL $ and prizes for the players.
As someone old enough to remember when the Holiday Festival was THE event I agree. Things change and if you don’t adapt you die.

Billionaires should start their own tournaments and make sure to invite their favorite college teams as often as legally possible.
