Post season Prediction for us

My prediction is that we've been secretly practicing wacky zones all year and that Mullin purposely employed the no-rebounding strategy to save the energy of an undersized team, knowing that we'd be able to squeak in anyway, and now we've got the element of surprise.

And Keita really has great hands. :)

And if we are lucky the incredible jump from frosh to soph shown by Josh Roberts will find him still in a STJ uniform and quickly becoming the defensive 3-4 equivalent of Justin Simon at the 1-2-3.

Maybe the 3-4-5 but not the 1-2.

The only prediction I can safely give is that Zaun will post every 5 mins up until game time about how this season went and how he's gonna root like hell for them anyways.

I can admit now that I was way off on this team. Last year we seemed to be in every game except a couple. Thought for sure with the improved talent it would be quite fun. I was wrong. my apologies to those who had a better feel on the team and staff

I'm about to have a Marillac moment, LOL. But go look at some of my posts from the first season.

I love you but that fact that you are going back to look at posts from Year 1 makes me want to smack you:silly:

Hahahaha! Nooooo! I didn't go back and look at posts from season one, but I recall being ridiculed by a couple posters or so because I was making too quick of an analysis of Mullin as a coach. That may have been true, but there was something fundamentally wrong (IMO) with the style of play.

Fundamentally wrong was the absolute empty Cupboard that would have been Lavin’s , had he returned . We played with 2 5 th year players from Pitt and SE Missouri State plus some of Lavin’s Bench players and Mussini who had to play out of position at PG . Folks forget how little Lavin had he stayed 1 more year . Mullins losses that year are not his responsibility . Despite those who want it to be for their bizarre reasons .

It is 100% on him. this is nonsense, he took the job he owns it. Roberts owns his first year at SJU as well.

This question is not does he own those losses, he does. The question is should he be held to the same standard after just 1 year that everyone knew was likely to be bad. That of course is no. And that is why he was not fired.

And stop with the Lavin left the cupboard bare. He was fired. You have no idea what the roster would have looked like if he wasn't fired. Either way you are acting like he intentionally left that roster. Are you saying he wanted to get fired? The entire argument is stupid.

Quoting me with foolishness, dude.

The style of play had nothing to do with his roster. What you saw his first season still is prevalent now. He just have better talent. All in all, things are the same. A flawed style of play and underachievement.

Maybe, midway through next season you'll have had enough and will stop placing blame elsewhere.

It's going to be written into every new SJU coaching contract that if fired they have a responsibility to leave 10 players with half of them seniors on the roster when they are fired. How can you guarantee that? Second clause will require that coach to stay on for 3 months after they are FIRED to help recruit that roster therefore they can't be blamed for leaving a depleted roster even though they were fired and aren't allowed to coach that roster?

Totally agree! The record was better because the starting five talent was much better than the first three years. There has been absolutely no improvement in the coaching and team development. Next year figures to be a disaster. I suspect we will be doing well not to finish dead last in the BE.
