Fun game and really nice to see Coburn have a great night on his Senior night. He had a lot of family and friends there last night.

As to somehow turning that into a negative - if you look hard enough you can always find something to complain about. So congratulations to those who found something in a 15 point win to bitch about. You must be a blast at parties!
Or be the guy who calls out people who arent doing cartwheels over a meaningless win against a bad team in a very disappointing season.
If the game was meaningless, then why did you watch and post so much about it?
I am a fan of this team.  Meaningless or not I am watching and posting.

There is zero room for debate that Duke is a legit fan of SJU.  /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

The game was not meaningless at all St. John's and Xavier were both competing for 7th spot in BE tournament and Xavier is literally playing for it's tournament life right now, so they were giving it everything they had.  And the biggest thing is you're playing to build momentum heading into the BE tournament, nobody wants to be playing bad basketball and be out of sync going into the tournament.  You're one that's always begging for more minutes for Coburn, he got them this game, and it was a big boost for his confidence.  You think him getting into a good rhythm heading into the tournament is meaningless?  Could be the game where everything clicks for him and he breaks out in BE tournament and they make a run like Georgetown did last year.

Sold.  Im in!

But if they lose to Marquette I am blaming you for getting my hopes up again.

Regardless of other games this Season, you have to give Coburn a lot of Props for his play this  Year .  He’s carrying a tough Academic schedule and not a lot of free time for the other things .  I will say this and echoing what many of the TV Announcers have said , “ his Shooting Stroke is as pure as they come ..  Shooters can have hot nights and not so hot nights . Witness several of Wheeler and Champs games this year as well as Kunkel on Xavier last night.  Either you stay with them or, not . I think CMA is a little inconsistent on that this year . Not only with Coburn ,but  Smith too .

Last night before the game I felt that most fans (like myself) were nervous as to what team would show up.  Thinking of the expectations vs. the results in the Providence and Creighton games, most people seemed on edge.  It was a game that took a while to get into a flow and letting them stay close was worrisome.  I noticed that among the comments very little about Wheeler whom I have liked from the first I saw of him.  I hope Aaron opts to come back and use his Covid year.  With Champ moving on in all likelihood, I would think he would be perfect to step into Champ's role.  It would also lessen the change impact.
Don't know if anyone else experiences having a better night's sleep after a win versus a loss but that definitely impacts me.

I know he didn’t shoot well this year but when you come into games knowing if you don’t hit one of first couple shots you are going to be taken out it is really hard to have confidence.Hopefully Coburn gets extended run in BET. Need guys to shoot threes
More importantly, need guys to make threes.

This was a great game to win. Senior night. Possibly eliminating Xavier from the NCAA tournament. Most importantly it was a team effort. Still not expecting a miracle run through the BET but will be pulling for them all the way.

Anyone know why Pinzon played 1 minute last night and 3 minutes the previous game?  This kid needs to be playing.

Maybe after his Covid issues his playing time should be restricted/controlled until next season.
You are probably right but in that case why not just medical redshirt him?

Old news, NCAA rejected it.  I believe discussion on it was in the "Around College Basketball Thread."

In a season where we broke the Hinkle curse, won at the Cintas Center why not beat @Marquette and make it a Midwestern Trifecta.

(belongs in the Marquette thread I guess I'll move it.)
