Have been hoping for Mullin to develop into a coach but to see the results with this team it is time once again for another coach. Right now St Johns is the worst team in the big east when they had the talent to win the big east. Hard to believe
The worst coached team in the conference. It's really not all that close, if you ask me.
Mullin supporters won’t be happy with that statement

Asked Chris Mullin his thoughts on this season: "We made progress." As much progress as he he wanted: "Never."

Initially, I was a huge supporter. But he started to quickly sour on me, as I saw too many red flags. Nothing was being done to solve the issues, either.

If any supporter isn't happy with my statement, then that's tough. So be it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This guy is clueless. He should have never been hired by St. John's in the first place. Hopefully, Cragg realizes this and fires him at the end of the season. No way that he will ever be a successful coach here. Looks completely unmotivated and has zero idea how to actually coach. Please, please hire a competent coach for next season. I don't even care if they lose commits and recruits in the process. The Mullin experiment needs to end.
I’m sure I’ll be more level headed tomorrow when I cool down but this is easily the most disappointing St. John’s team that has ever been put out on the floor.

At least the Lavin team with DLo, Jakarr, Jordan, etc started 0-5 in big east and failed to their claw their way back. So we were let down early and knew what was coming.

This team makes themselves a solid NCAAT and is 20-8 going into March and then they suddenly stop playing hard. Remember how active our hands were in defense earlier in the season. So many deflections, so much attention to detail. Completely gone.

Ponds has checked out. He’s talented enough to get buckets when he doesn’t care but he can’t hide it on defense sometimes, he has checked out.

And heron has checked out even more
On the team’s defensive struggles…
“ We have somewhat of a small team and we have to be active, both offensively and defensively. … It’s something that we’ll keep working at. We’ve done good at it at times, just not so much the last ten days.”

You built the team Chris, you built a small roster, so that's on you.

On if the program has made progress this season…
“We made progress. We did do that. We’re always going to have high expectations. Now it’s time to regroup and get ready for the BIG EAST Tournament.”
Yeah Chris, I guess starting last year 0-11 be being 8-10 this year is progress huh? Just to bad you choked the last 3 games of the season.
Outreboumded by 14, outshot 61%-51% from 2-pt range, and 42%-35% from behind the Arc.
Lose ‘em all with those stats.
Very frustrating team to watch and root like hell for, for sure.
Best likely outcome is 21-12 at end of BET.
Will that get us in as an 11 seed?
Blame all around from top to bottom...don’t even want to hear post game or pre game comments...today was out or shut up and they folded from minute 1. I could tell even when the game was tied mid first half that they were done.

“...something that we’ll keep working at...”? At some point, the urgency level should have been raised to code red. Never happened

Okay, I'm a 'calabrese'.
Flying to NYC for Wednesday's game, and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's games!
Because I'm also on the dumb side!
Going on for tickets now (1 game at a time!).
Not a total moron.
Anybody wanna meet up with a very vigorous, old, bald, guy lemme know!

Jack, I've seen --and endured -- a lot more seasons of St. John's basketball than you, but I agree with you 100% about this being the most disappointing team I've ever seen. Just infuriating. As for Heron, I'm convinced he's gone ... and if he goes, you can bet Nate Tabor's commitment will be gone as well, given his ties to the Heron family. So what's next: a new coach, an overhauled roster, and, of course, that old standby, another ineffectual four-year rebuilding process?

So, why would his being here be so dependant on Heron?

Pretty sure Tabor lives with the Herons. If Heron was having a horrible time here, Tabor would certainly hear about it.

Well, if that's the case, then yes, but I was under the impression that Heron always felt he would be one-and-done here.

If Paultz is to be believed (and I've learned to trust him more often then not), then his leaving after this year might not be an indictment on his time at St. John's.
