(POST-GAME) @Xavier, Sat. Mar. 9, 5pm, FOX / 970AM

Year 4 and 7 seed in conference and playing wednesday night. Enough said. Another game where I'm just not going to comment on the game itself immediately after

I’m sure I’ll be more level headed tomorrow when I cool down but this is easily the most disappointing St. John’s team that has ever been put out on the floor.

At least the Lavin team with DLo, Jakarr, Jordan, etc started 0-5 in big east and failed to their claw their way back. So we were let down early and knew what was coming.

This team makes themselves a solid NCAAT and is 20-8 going into March and then they suddenly stop playing hard. Remember how active our hands were in defense earlier in the season. So many deflections, so much attention to detail. Completely gone.

Ponds has checked out. He’s talented enough to get buckets when he doesn’t care but he can’t hide it on defense sometimes, he has checked out.

And heron has checked out even more

Both teams played 7 players and their bench outscored ours 22-0. We did manage to haul down a whopping 24 rebounds though.

I told y'all about Mullin awhile ago. As, I stated a week ago.... It sucks being right sometimes. Real deal.

You had to win 1 of the last 3 games. Absolutely had to.

I made my comment on this game in the Mullin thread - just beyond embarrassing. Thank God I have other reasons to visit NYC...

Never miss watching a SJU game, but didn't watch this game because I didn't have to. The outcome was made clear by our response to losses at home to Depaul and Providence. The team peaked at the start of the conference season, but has looked disjointed ever since. Very little team play. Almost looks like a bunch of guys that were thrown together in a pickup game. I'm not saying what changes should be made, but would suggest that anyone not named Mullin would be fired. Poor roster construction, lack of team play, and no answer in rematch game of 3 home losses. Anyone who comes up with the line that the record improved every year should save their energy. Next year will be much worse than this.

Utterly incredible that this team has regressed so much over the course of season. They looked completley uncohesive as a unit on both ends of the court. And we can’t blame it on youth. Watched TT highlights and couldn’t help but think “Owens knew exactly what he was doing by leaving here”.

Outreboumded by 14, outshot 61%-51% from 2-pt range, and 42%-35% from behind the Arc.
Lose ‘em all with those stats.
Very frustrating team to watch and root like hell for, for sure.
Best likely outcome is 21-12 at end of BET.
Will that get us in as an 11 seed?

Have been hoping for Mullin to develop into a coach but to see the results with this team it is time once again for another coach. Right now St Johns is the worst team in the big east when they had the talent to win the big east. Hard to believe

My favorite play is the Simon whirling dervish shot where he just throws it up with no clue where the basket is. May as well wear a blindfold.

The worst coached team in the conference. It's really not all that close, if you ask me.

and yet the staff continues to allow it. We put up far to many circus shots.

The team regressed because they are so easy to prepare for,

. Offensively they do nothing and defensively they switch on everything and create mismatches. I think Mullin is too stupid to be embarrassed by his performance.

Love Mullin. But...He is not motivated, can not coach or apparently learn. A New coach and starting over yet again on the horizon. Maybe. Just maybe. Team will regain their focus and surprise everyone in the BET. No reason to believe that though.

There is one thing this team does extremely well and this is handle losing. They go down so easily without a fight no matter how important the game. Important to the school and fans that is.
I hope we don't have to hear how important the tournament is going to be to them next week. Sick of that.

You limited it to the conference. Generous.

im just sick by the lack of adjusting to our opponent, never happened we continued the same strategy all year, really frustrating!
