(POST GAME) Stony Brook, Sun., Dec. 6, 2:30p, FS-1 / 970 AM WNYM

Pretty hard not to be pleased by today's game. Very positive performances from Greg, Champ, Moore, Toro, Posh, Wusu, McGriff & Roberts showed a nice touch underneath. Cole will get there imho.

Loved reading CMA's quote that team will be getting much better. This is definitely my favorite Johnnie team since Lavin's first year; so easy to root for both coach and players. Greg Williams is going to live on the foul line if he stays aggressive.

I think it will be interesting to see how playing time unfolds as the season goes on. We had 10 players today all play more than 10 minutes. Eventually there just won't be enough minutes to go around (especially when Dunn returns).

I thought McGriff played really well, but does he even see the floor when Dunn is back?

Toro and Moore looked serviceable today, and come big east play, we are going to need their size. But what would that mean for Roberts and Earlington? And I think Roberts gets the nod over Earlington because of his shot blocking ability.

I guess time will tell......this is not a bad problem to have.

I don’t think not enough minutes is an issue. I think playing together and getting it done is the issue. The minutes figure themselves out. We gotta learn cohesive ball and it’s harder with a big and capable roster, but need to get there.

It's a balancing act for CMA but in no way, shape or form is it a bad thing to have 11 or 12 guys who can capably play some BE minutes. We have that and I can't remember that being the case in the past 10 years. First Lavin team came closest.

I liked to see Roberts get some more minutes. I hope they are just easing him back because of his shoulder and not because he is in the dog house for something.

Greg Williams is poster child for player development. Has added scoring and leadership to his athleticism. Plays smart and in control. Nice job Greg and staff.

I'm glad McGriff played some good minutes. He needs as much experience as possible. He'll have a important role coming off the bench after Dunn returns.

I hope Dunn is doing ok. Concussion symptoms can linger for quite awhile. Nausea, dizziness, light sensitivity, and headaches are hard for any athlete to get through. I'm thankful we're long past the shake it off, gut it out, and play attitude that existed when I was in college.

Dunn should be close to 100% when he's cleared to play.

Today's Johnnie's win is very satisfying after struggling with BYU. The team should be much better by mid January.

I'm still alive guys, just busy today could not get chance to watch but kept checking score on my phone. My heart rate was typical after seeing it was never really close after we got going a bit into game. This is a bad SB team, so this is exactly what I expected. Worried about Cole and Moore's stock going up in my book. He can be a good zone breaker making mid range shots with Champ. What's up with Posh's low scoring numbers today? How'd he look? All in all, glad to see the easy win and happy to be 4-1 right about where we should be. Saw UConn game cancelled ugh...should not have to shut entire team down if they all test negative while the positive player quarantines. Just my thoughts.

The reason to quarentine entire team is probably in compliance with new CDC guidelines which recomment quarentining anyone who has had contact for a 7 to 10 day period (prior guide said 14 days) and BE/NCAA are probably following CDC guidelines.

Glad to see mcGriff get minutes today--his 4 assists are a positive and he gave Posh the rest he needed. He was overused in the BYU game and prior games going for more than 32/minutes per game. Given his great hustle on the court some breathers are necessary.

Posh looked like the last guy anyone would want guarding them. He was credited with 4 steals, and his deflections and pressure defense caused a lot of turnovers. He doesn't need to score a lot to change the direction of a game.

I enjoyed this game from my midcourt seat and hope some of you fans join me soon because our cardboard season seat holders look lonely on TV. I am the guy wearing the USA stars and stripes soccer bandana with the mustache. LOL!
This team is improving game by game but our freshmen point guards McGriff and Posh are keys to finding open players and will eventually learn to look more for players like Cole, JC and Williams. I am hoping coach Anderson gets the additional 6'10 player eligible because our inside game needs rapid improvement.
That said, this is a developmental season that will give us a glimpse of what to expect next season with more experienced players and a super long front line of athletic players.

Love the way Greg played today. I know everyone is high on Julian- and rightfully so- but i feel that our success will be predicated on how aggressive Greg chooses to be. Julian will get his- on jumpers , cuts , put backs - but Greg is that second lead guard out there that is quick enough to beat his man / big enough to get a shot at the rim / athletic enough to finish. He can help get opponents in foul trouble, and has the ability to shoot from 3.

Instead of his first two years, where he mainly swung the ball around the horn, and took an occasional open shot (saw him get better at that last year), want to see him driving a lot more- i think well see he can finish / pull up for that mid range J.

Hopefully his confidence is growing.

Toward the end of the game we were running with Posh, Greg, McGriff, Moore and Roberts. That three guard defense was very effective at pressuring and turning over SB while the two bigs played rim protectors and cleaned up on fast breaks.

I'm wondering if that kind of a lineup late in games, when teams have tired legs might work for short spells.

The game looked like it really slowed down for Williams yesterday. Everything was in rhythm. Confident actions.
My takeaway: our Gregg Williams had a much better Sunday and Monday than the Jets' Gregg Williams.
And GW still on the Red Storm team!

Back when i played guard in high school I hated guys like Posh and Williams and even Dunn.

just bringing the ball up the court was a freaking chore; if it didn't get stolen, you were exhausted by the time you got the ball into the front court.

I just love having defenders on our team. I'd rather see a dribble strip-steal and an easy layup than anything else.

Like taking candy from a baby.
