It is only one game, lets not give up on Earlington, Dunn, Roberts and Caraher.
Agreed but Caraher making two stupid passes/turnovers in consecutive plays made me really angry! :eek:hmy:
(Toro also had a couple of lazy passes but fortunately they got saved I think both times by Posh)

In the huddle after the second DC looked terrified. I'd like to see both him and Williams playing more confidently. Both of them play tentative and it hurts their game.

Let's see a better showing today

Right now we are the equivalent of a decent mid major team. Same as St Pete's. Of course it's one game and we didn't have Champ. We'll get better, but so will most teams. Think we found some good things tonight: Cole, Posh and Moore (offense) to name 3. Not sure why CMA played Wusu so much. Thought Earl should have been in for last 5 minutes of game. Of newcomers, wasn't impressed with Toro. Very early, but we did about what I expected; pulled out a win against an evenly matched team.
lol, Wusu has almost half as many points as all the returning players. He wasn’t the problem. The problem was Earlington, Dunn, Robert’s, Caraher, and the rest of the guys who didn’t step up. Talent gap becoming apparent, and it’s obvious that our classes are getting more talented. Need to keep that up and rebuild.
Talk about speed and Posh..Is their a faster point guard bringing the ball up court? Nice rebounding with 7 and 5 steals.
Have to improve stopping the penetration and hand offs.
Finally we have a big man who can score. Moore looked good.
Too many missed layups and turnovers.
Good job by Hollaway breaking the press,
Toro seems to have weak hands, not holding on to a couple of passes.
Williams got more minutes then most of the team, but other then his free throws looked a lot like last year. Not forgetting his excellent offense at the end of the season.
Too many turnovers - 17
Way to go on the foul line.
Didn't see any nervousness from our new guys.
Watching most of yesterday's games I have to wonder if we can handle the big guys inside.
,Let's not be so critical. It's only the first game.

But they gotta all play better, no half assing s*
No doubt about it. I expect they will. Caraher looked shaky.

I think people are right to be disappointed in last night's performance and people are right not to overreact or make assumptions about this team or coach based off last night's performance.

I don't think Dunn sucks. He's a great weapon. I think we just need to reset our expectations of what Dunn is. He really should be the 6th or 7th guy on a pretty good team. He should be our Jamal Crawford (with a much worse jump shot) A guy who can come in for Williams or Posh and get some buckets, draw some fouls and be a pest. I think if we see him as that instead of a lead guard we maybe more pleased with his contributions. He's a tough kid and maybe a leader here.

I agree the rotation needs to tighten. Can't play 12. Going to have to play 9 (and hopefully 10 if McGriff can hang). Doesn't make sense to play Roberts and Caraher if the guys in front of them are healthy and not in foul trouble. The only thing Roberts does better than the bigs in front of him is maybe rim protect and it's just not enough. He doesn't contribute offensively. Wusu just needs to get Caraher's minutes. It is what it is. Hopefully McGriff can get in because we need a true pg to spell Posh. WIlliams Jr and Dunn aren't reliable as the primary ball handlers.
What posh and sju need is a guy like Cuffe next to him...;-)
Actually I think that is 100%. Wusu is the closest thing we have to a 2 guard and I don't think he'll ever be considered "combo". I think that is why the staff is trying to move him along quick as none of us really expected.
