(POST-GAME) Providence (MSG), Sat. Feb. 9, Noon, CBS SN, 570AM

Two stinkers in the Garden in front of big crowds .. shame on them.

Utterly unforgiveable defeat at home. Amazingly poor and lifeless performance by everyone involved. I don't get it and I don't think I ever will.
Until today, I thought we were an NCAA team. After today, I realized they just don't deserve it.

Luca would have gotten a rebound v Keita with zero, my lord. Cooley saw vulnerability inside & pounded away.

Monte said it best; playing at home with a great opportunity and getting beaten soundly by struggling team who did not shoot well has to be of concern, Heron absence or not.

A very frustrating team to watch. The only consistent thing about this team is that they are inconsistent!

Ponds and Figueroa were the only two players in double figures today. The next high scorer was Keita. Think about that. Roberts was excellent today!

Let's be honest, we're a small team, and we all knew all year we were going to be outrebounded nearly every game. However, our equalizer was supposed to be the 3 point shot. We've been shooting less and less of them every game, and today was a 2-12 disaster. Troubling.

It’s just infuriating as a fan to see the lackluster effort that this team gives at times.

We finally got fans going to the Garden and then we put out performances like today and against Gtown watch now a lot of fans will sell their tickets for next week to Nova fans

This team is maddening and Coach Cooley owns us. As much as I hate losing, I’m glad they are spreading it around, for the last 4 years I’ve paid to watch them just no show at Butler.

Time to jump back on the fire Mullin band wagon for a week. Inconsistent play falls on the coach.

Roberts could have been a bigger part of the team if he had been getting minutes all season. This is on the staff to not recognize that he has ability and not to develop that ability.
Hold on, Chris just called a timeout. :)
I get the timeout being funny LAUGH OUT LOUD!!! This game was not lost on timeouts it was lost on effort from all involved. We did have 4 TV timeouts for motivation!!!!

The disappointing thing about this team , shown clearly today, is they play LAZY most of the time . They have no Team leader and today Mullin needed to put a hot Ramrod on every player . Simon reverted to the Player that was ripped before the Marquette game and Clark hasn’t shown up for weeks . Scoring 10 points between Clark and Simon in a game they essentially needed to step up , is puzzling . Makes you wonder if this team is together in the locker room ? I would even add that our Staff today looked lazy too. Maybe up too late watching Precious A play last night ? .. Chris needed to rip some Players new ones today and didn’t . This is .500 ball club at best and we have too high of expectations for them . Losing in such a poor display at MSG in front of a near sellout is just unexplainable , regardless of no Heron .
This team played like it has never seen a zone defense on offense, and like a fifth grade girls team rebounding the ball on defense.
Ill prepared. Ill motivated.
In another post, I mentioned that Mullin needs to go Bobby Knight on this team. Open up the gym at 2 am tomorrow morning. Run them to death. If they don’t want to expend effort during the game, maybe they will at practice.
And while we’re at it, the AD can gather Mullin and the staff in an office and explain how this lack of effort will not be tolerated!
Under no circumstance should the AD EVER intervene with the coach in regards to effort, coaching strategy, etc.....

Sometimes you have to make your own brakes.
Exactly. Otherwise you will crash.

What kind of odds would you have gotten if before the season you were told halfway thru BE season they would have a sweep of Marquette but have home losses to Georgetown, DePaul and Providence none of whom at this point are anywhere near NCAA bubble....

We need to win 5 of our last 7 games and I just don’t think that this team has the focus, dertimination or consistency to play five complete games out of seven. For some reason they are just not hungry enough and just don’t seem to want it.

Roberts fronted well. blocked some shots & had five rebounds v a very physical group. A few times he also came up with a loose ball and did not panic, finding a guard to pass too.

Not Karl Malone, but worth investing in. At very least it will keep him interested getting some minutes. One game, but imo his upside seems solid. I think Keita comments above just about covered his deficits.
