(POST GAME) (MSG) Villanova, Tue., Feb. 8 , 8:30p, FS-1

How many times to we complain about misses bunnies going back to the Norm years. At some point it’s not on the players it’s on who the coaches recruited

How does the guy who was hot the whole game and carried you not get a touch down three with 20 seconds to go and we have the ball??????

No moral victories in Year 3
Get out of here with that "no moral victories in Year 3" crap.  We were playing a top 20 team with one of the best coaches in the game. And we were missing our 2nd best player, and our best player was hurt most of the game. Given the circumstances, we did as well as we could have expected, and you should be very pleased with the game tonight.

I’m glad you’re happy with tonight’s game.

I was not.

Anderson post game...let me guess what he says

- give credit to Nova.  They are smart
- we had guys hurting
- Aaron stepped up and played a helluva game
- thought we couldn't make shots. That was the difference in the game.
- we cut a 20 pt lead to 3 wirh 35 sec. We had a chance.
- ran out of time
- we're getting better.

kids try...but this program is really hurting.

I'm sorry, but Nova shot well below their season average from 3 and the line, and Gillespie was at 50%.  Yet they dominated until they stopped playing with 3 minutes to go.

Wheeler with 31 and 7 assists with 60% from 3 as well as 3 for 3 from the line. He's amazing and has really come along. He's now making himself NBA material.
For all my criticism of Wusu, he did a yeoman's job tonight with 7 points and 11 rebounds and 5 assists as well as 2 for 2 from the line.

Sure. But it is still a loss. If this team didn’t drop as many winnable games as they did earlier, you could say this.

Not now. Not if the goal is to make the NCAA tournament.

Got killed in the paint.  How the hell does Gillespie grab 10 rebounds?

What part of St. John’s season’s record of 13 and 10 and it’s Big East record of 5 and 7 do you find “moral victory” in ?

Turn out the lights for post season play.

How ironic would it be if Wheeler turned out to be the better prospect than Champ?

Wheeler was ready for this game from the jump. Wish I could say the same for the rest of the team.

Mathis 1 for 14. Who authorized him to take 14 shots!
He was 0/11 when finally yanked. He forced shots keeping SJ from establishing any rhythm & Mike no matter how short they were tonight should have sat him well before that. Mathis plays hard defensively, but has no sense of his limitations on offense and really hurt the team tonight. Anderson imo often stays far too long with him.

Coburn got a great look.  Not going to get a better opportunity at that point in the game.

Maybe I’d buy the moral victory thing if this was a normal powerhouse nova team.

the team I saw tonight was not that. Let’s get them in the BET and press the hell out of them with Posh. They aren’t that scary this year
