(POST GAME) (MSG) DePaul, Sat. Jan. 11, Noon, FSN (YES) / 970 WNYM

Good win
Did think some of the substitutions at the end were odd.
Clutch FT's by Williams
Think it is time for LJ to retire that running one hander think shooting about 15% on those
Wish he could shoot but Dunn our best player

I didn’t see the game but good to get that monkey off our back. Let’s keep going and get a win vs Providence.

Star of the game is Dunn: 19pnts, 8boards, 5assists, 2stls. Should start rest of the season.
Heron: 15pnts, 4assists. Good game, now get consistent and have another good game vs. PC on Wednesday.
Champ: 11pnts, 4boards, 3dimes, 1block

assts/T.O: DePaul 18/19, SJU 23/8

Yeah, LJ seemed to make a good bit of them last year. This year, not so much. It's not a good shot. He's off balance on every single one.

Congratulations to Mike Anderson and the Johnnies for their first BE win.

It's a lot of fun seeing Dunn earn his start and contribute so much to this team.

Heron is playing much better. Overall a great team effort.

Moore was gassed at the end of the game but, he’s a stud PG... great team effort from our Guys . Holding serve at home is critical to us in the BE . The Butler game will be a festering sore all year , more so than the losses at Xavier and G’Town . Need to beat the Friars next week . The Heron critics were silenced today . Ever onward .

Solid game, and a much needed win against an improved DePaul Team.

I like that they were trying to run the shot clock down at the end of the game, but they need to have some kind of plan when it hits the 10 second mark. How many times were they going to see the clock go to 4 second and put up a panicked shot. DePaul missed some free throws at the end that could have put this game in OT or even worse a loss.

Not trying to beat a dead horse but our offensive sets in the final 4 minutes of games that where close has been terrible. Need to figure this out, Good teams will capitalize on this weakness and continue to close out the games against us. Need to insert some screen down pin down action off the low post high post and then space out on the drive/penetration. Should result in better angles to penetrate. and possible kick outs. Going to the top of the key and trying to penetrate with a high ball screen with 5 seconds or less is not a preferred option for this team. Great win outstanding effort especially on some transition fast breaks.

Refs saved DePaul from getting their ass beat by 20+. Seriously that game was teetering on the edge of blowout when the refs decided to slow the game down by calling a foul every 15 seconds. The slow pace let DePaul stick around, and our free throw misses didn’t help. But we got back on track with those.

Also, this offense would be completely screwed if we didn’t have a plucky guard from Cleveland state bailing us out a ton. Dunn is so important to the team

Was happy to see Williams get crunch-time minutes and 27 overall ... and make those clutch FTs.

Clear MVP imho to this point in the season as I doubt we’d have half as many wins without him and his ability to penetrate.

Damn straight. Today and West Virginia both probably losses without him and his late shot clock magic

No doubt, he's been impressive. He should probably be able to get many easy assists if we had some big men that could finish.

Our shortest player (Dunn) led the team in rebounds ( 8 ). Next highest was Earlington and Champanie with 4 each.

We have Dunn next year correct? I’m very excited for next year already especially if LJ comes back (he should)
