(POST-GAME) Marquette, Tues. Jan. 1, 7pm, FS1 / 970AM
Clark is having a super senior year - we couldn't ask for more on the court and a great kid to boot!
His play on offense is essential to our success. As a stretch 4 or 5 he is what allows us to space the court and more importantly allows a guard, Simon to post up as his strength is not outside shooting. But again. his shooting continues to improve.

Sorry to disagree with you but this was an A game. No team is going to beat Marquette without an A game. I usually anticipate one or two of our players will not play to their ability but tonight all 5 starters scored in double figures and non fouled out which could have been a factor considering what a liability our bench is offensively.
Marquette is not nearly as good as you think they are. We were much too athletic for them and exposed them all night with our quickness.

We still had a poor first half turning the ball over like crazy. Once we are able to put two halfs together, watch out.

Also 72, you’ve been taking digs at Clark for weeks in your posts, how’d it feel watching him light up the incredible golden eagles
My digs pertain to his lack of an inside game. The guy is built like a brick shit house but doesn't utilize his size and strength inside. Tonight he rained threes which is his game. Just want to see him develop an all around game. Would like him to play more like Mustapha attacking inside and out.
I am retiring at the end of this week. My thanks to the team for a great retirement present!
Congrats Ray on your upcoming retirement
I thought it would be a difficult transition for me but I love it and am busy every single day
It also allowed me to be a six month snowbird in South Florida which I love!!!
Again, congrats Ray and enjoy!! You've earned it!!

Trust me Ray, you won't look back. I retired in mid 2017 after many years of a 24/7 type job where I was never really unplugged. Some of my colleagues said how will you fill up the time? No problem - haven't miss it at all. Of course, I didn't join redmen.com until I retired!
You can add me to that list Ray. Retired March 2017 and never looked back. Had unsustainable job for years and the day I left it was gone from my head... and my life. Enjoy retirement!

I lost enthusiasm for a position I used to love because I answer to hacks. I have been a Floridian for years, but can now spend the summers back in NY where many friends still live. The only problem is finding a 2 month rental that is affordable. Plus i have little dogs. Maybe I will do what a retired friend does: walk dogs for some cash and exercise. He has some stories to tell about the wealthy people that put a GPS on their dogs.

72, just don't agree that this criticism is warranted. He had 3 baskets inside plus 4 fouls shots resulting from drives to the hoop and also had 7 rebounds. Clark is doing an excellent job rebounding and defending inside over the last several games. He is tremendously valuable to us as a 3 point shooter spreading the floor but that is not his only value. Rebounding is up from last year as is interior defense.

Williams looks explosive. If he can keep defenses honest from outside, he will be difficult to handle down the line.

Kudos to coach Mitch Richmond - whom was specially noted by Len Elmore, that Richmond was working with Marvin Clark on his shooting... it's paid off.
He's got an absolutely beautiful shot.

Marvin played a great game tonight and let's leave it at that.
Marillac this is super off topic but do you happen to have a link to that video you made back during the Lavin era where it was like Hitler in some movie and you put in custom captions to make it apply to the program? I don’t why I was just thinking about that but that video was gold
He is faking and taking it to the hoop more. And tonight he did it with more agility so as to avoid the charging fouls. He’s never going to be a low post player, but when he’s hitting his outside shots, that will open up the drive for him.

Just go back from the game and I am still so pumped up. So proud of our guys and our fans, esp cially our students. For school being closed, they had a great turnout. And our fans were great! Reminded me of being at games during that magical Final Four season. And finally our guys, who came out clearly with a chip on their shoulders after being robbed of a win on Saturday night. I loved the defense I saw and the distributed offense. Tonight was a prime example of why this team can be so dangerous, with all our starters in double digits. When Ponds fell off in the second half, Heron and Figgy. Are through, and of course, Simon and Clark II were beasts throughout the whole game.

And a special prop to the young fan who, during the dance cam segment, held up a sign that said “13-0”. CA went crazy when we saw that.

Just as I couldn’t sleep after Saturday night’s hosing, I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep tonight! Go Johnnies!

When they beat the hated Hoyas on the road this weekend your retirement gift will be that much sweeter. Congrats to you Ray.
Tried to convince my daughter to go back to school a week early(I’m driving her down) so I can catch the game, but she wasn’t buying it.

The combination of Clark's outside shooting and Mullin's offensive strategy could result in Clark getting drafted by an NBA team next spring.

Ah, you’re just saying that now after this fabulous and dominating win! If God forbid, they had stumbled, you would’ve delayed that retirement, right?!?
Lol.
Congrats Ray, enjoy your golden years that coincided with St. John’s back in the national basketball conversation!
Ray Morgan, I have been retired for seven years and am enjoying life. I am never bored. My wife and I travel, raise our 12 year old granddaughter. Go to the gym, to be honest my wife more than me. I try to attend as many St Johns games as possible. Attend my granddaughter's track and cross country meets. I have been volunteering at the Out Patient Substance Abuse program at Queens Hospital every Friday morning since I retired. My wife and I go to the movies, usually catch the 10am show and then have lunch. There are so many things to do, that sometimes I just stop and take a day to stay home and read.

Congratulations on your retirement, hope that you enjoy yourself.
