Pinzon played well, but he should not have had the ball in his hands on that last play. No way, no how. Not when we have the best PG in the Big East on the court
Someone needs to grill Anderson about this in the press conference.

So tired of losses like this. We never seem to get over the hump as a program. A win here coupled with a competitive loss to Kansas would have accomplished that. Now not so much. Losing Mathis certainly hurt. Still don't understand the call, and I'm a hoops official. Where the hell was Coburn? You can't bury a kid after 3 missed shots. Don't like that move at all. Off of 3 games, not feeling any love for Wheeler.

Tough loss. Nothing to be ashamed of though. Team was resilient. Just a few of thoughts.

1- Slow start hurt. Left us digging out most of the game.
2- FT shooting was excellent. SJU also was ok from 3. Although, need to limit opposition wide open shots.
3- Last play was not well executed. You can’t run right at the guy you want to give the ball too. Oh well, shit happens.

For all that is holy. No one in the State of Indiana ever commits a foul. Yeah, we think that too so it’s not just the crowd there. The whining about foul calls has always been part of the game but sometimes fouls are so obvious that we’ll they are fouls. LOL.

All in all, a good loss that can be built upon.
it’s not a good loss solely because of our weak ass scheduling. We put ourselves in a situation where we basically needed to win this for our non conf resume.

I didn’t dvr this.

was posh overplayed on the inbounds or did it look like it was going to pinzon all along?

I think Indiana speed was too much for Coburn and Anderson knew that

Need to remember how this loss feels.  Next game play 40 minutes.  Guys on here have said Pinzon looked scared in previous games and were also disappointed with Smith.  Let’s not judges these players or this team this soon.  We’ll get better.

Maybe you should put your name in to be the next head coach! Pinzon had the best game of his young career. He had no trouble bringing the ball up the court the entire game.

Don’t really care about coburn.

team made a near miraculous comeback with the guards playing near flawless.

Tough loss.

Their first half was a little better than our second half.

I thought Julian, Smith, and Pinzon played very well in the second half.

I thought the play by Mathis should have been a flagrant 1, but I'm biased on that.  Then again, it probably gave Pinzon more time out there, and he played well.

I think we had Posh inbounding, because Anderson anticipated Indiana guarding the inbounds pass (so did I, FWIW).  They did apply token pressure, but backed off.  Not enough time for Pinzon to hit Alexander trailing.  It was in the right guy's hands at the end, but he didn't get it cleanly.

Too early to tell what ramifications this will have down the line, in terms of a tournament bid.  If anything, the second half tonight tells me that we will pick up enough wins in the Big East to get in the tournament.  Then again, the performance of the rest of the conference this week scares me.

I'm hoping this game has a similar effect as the Marquette home game did last year.  It was pretty much like this game.  Down double digits at the half.  Rallied in the second half, but never took the lead, and lost by 2.  That loss dropped us to 7-7 last year, but we took the right lessons from that game, and went 9-3 the rest of the regular season.

Tired of losses like this     I’m getting too old lol

A win tonight then go against Kansas undefeated with a quality win

I will stick with what I posted earlier. Smith is near automatic inside the 3 and an adventure behind the line. I know he shot 40% from 3 one season, but it's a different game at this level.
Stanley seems to be a better option than Wheeler. He is still raw, but Stanley plays hard and won't take any threes. That's an improvement right there.
Soriano looked like he lacked Big East athleticism. Still, 4 offensive rebounds is a stat we need from him.
Pinzon had some good moments, but that last pass would have been a great one if it was for Champagnie's father the soccer player. Right at Champ's feet. After that Champ rushed the shot. Not a well executed play.

Tough loss. Lots of coulda, woulda, shoulda, but we showed grit tonight, which is coaching, and lost no persona, just 1 game.
I think we'll make a statement this year.

Or we lose on one possession tonight and beat Kansas? Both work for me.  Kansas is a bunch tougher, but then again it comes down to matchups and how we play on our end.  This one was easily winnable if we played a good first half and cut mistakes.  It will come with time.

That makes sense only IF you don’t have a guy named Posh Alexander on the court.
