Great response game. Only real complaint is not finishing often enough and allowing the big run to start 2nd. After the timeout they got their focus again. Great job getting the kids ready after a brutal loss. I wouldn't want to play us. Will be really fun to see what Steere can do when he plays. We really may shock some people if he proves to be BE starter level.

“I like what he can bring too but he looks a step slow and not saying foot speed. Just seems like he’s delayed in what he does.“

Agree. He’s just a rebounder and role player and that’s kinda what I expected of him. We have to have those too. He plays real hard and isn’t gonna be part of the major scheme as a two way player. I still like how Anderson gets the most out of all his players. I have to say, Caraher getting more confident every game and I think he will get better and better. He gets rid of ball quicker now, is moving the ball up court fast, grabbing rebounds and making shots although will get better with that. He’s a keeper.

Just got home from the game great win but honestly for me tonight was all about me getting to live my dream of shooting on St. John’s home court!!! Anybody at the game I was on the winning 3 person team in the shooting contest at the half Tall guy in the St. John’s hat and Blue Mets Hoodie , drained 4 shots included a swish from three point range!! I will never forget that it was awesome.

My youngest son was the little guy with the NYPD (official) cap who made the bucket after putting on the clothes with the help of the cheerleader.

Marcellus The Motor Earlington through five games is giving us 9 and 5 in just 16 minutes a game. He never stops.

My hot take is he can be a beast by his Sr year

I’d agree with you. Don’t know if we’ll have to wait that long for him to be a serious BE contributor.

But yet he and Roberts did not deserve to play last season. SMH. The production we are getting from those two and Champagnie is just astounding. No one could have predicted same. If those three continue to develop they will each be outstanding as upper classmen.

Not a bad series of early season games. Especially since our 2 best players have yet to hit their stride. Can't wait for Heron and Figgy to get unfunked. Love the Roberts, Champagnie and Earlington have contributed thus far. Go Johnnies.

Lots of empty seats but team really came ready to play. This was exactly what I wanted to see, an easy win with everyone getting minutes evenly spread in preparation for w/e back to back. It was also a good confidence builder for a few guys--Heron woke up, Caraher was willing to shoot/rebound and Williams finally took some shots.
Earlington continues to amaze me with his agility for his size/weight.

He’s already way more productive than I could have imagined. He forces sometimes, but he seems to have a back for scoring.

By the time I got home it was 16-5, and we never looked back. Great bounce back win by the kids. Love the continued intensity on D. Most importantly, very solid game by Heron. And I continue to feel that Dunn will be huge for us when all is said and done. He’s a player. Still early, but with the addition of Steere, and the emergence of Roberts, starting to agree that we can surprise some people.

________

.... looks like my pal Monte is softening up about CMA.

Love his game, his energy and his D,
But Roberts at the line looked scary in a bad way.
