Nice bounce back by Champ, let’s hope he’s back on track. Less that 48 hours till game time at Hinkle Fieldhouse, one of our many house of horrors.

I’m surprised we haven’t gotten more from Stef Smith.  He’s gotten good looks this year and hasn’t been close on many.  It doesn’t look like the game is too fast for him.  It would be great if he could give us a lift.

Won a game we had to win against a terrible team.  Hopefully the takeaway is more confidence for Champ, and every game the team gets more time playing together is a plus.

If they can keep it going against Butler then that would be more significant - big games coming up now.

Excellent wire to wire win! We got Champ back. Let’s get Champ, Posh and Wheeler all playing well together and let’s go on a run. Soriano coming around nicely.

If he’s not hitting shots, Anderson won’t stay very long with him considering he does not defend well is my read.

Not getting ahead of ourselves but to salvage season must go 6-0 or at worst 5-1 against bottom 3 teams

I said this same thing a week or so ago. But now I don't think 5-1 will do it. At this point they have very little margin for error. 6-0 is basically a must. And then they still need some wins over UCONN, Xavier, Marquette and/or Nova.

I’d just like to see us play well the last half of the conference stretch.  Let’s get some momentum going into the Big East Tournament.  Nine more games left assuming we don’t make up the game against Marquette.  I’d like to see us go 6-3.  That’s probably not good enough for an at large bid, but will generate some excitement and optimism for us going into the Big East tournament.

He doesn't defend well at all, he's easily the worst defender at the guard rotation, it use to be Coburn, but Coburn has got a whole lot better. I watch Smith when he's guarding in the full court and he constantly over plays his man and losses him and forces someone to cover his man and it messes the defense up, he also reaches a whole lot.  If Pinzon was available I don't think we'd see much of Smith.

6-3 = 10-9 in conference, which puts us on the bubble and also means we beat some good teams down the stretch. One win in BE tournament puts us in, I think. I would be fine with that, if it is possible.

Does anyone know what is wrong with Pinzon? Sorry if stated in another post,
I believe it was a broken finger, than he had covid.  He was missing a lot of time and was probably not 100% with the finger so staff may be going for a medical redshirt, which is smart IMO, I think Pinzon will be a stud, wasting a year with him as the 10th or 11th guy when he's not 100% doesn't make much sense.

Not sure if the finger has anything to do with it.  Pretty sure he had a pretty good game after coming back from that injury.  Didn’t seem that the finger was holding him back
