I love how you’re all blaming the coach.

It’s the coach’s fault they can’t hold a 7-point lead with 2 and change left? It’s the coach’s fault they miss free throws? It’s the coach’s fault they let up an 0-6 run late in OT? They’re all the same age on the court, save me the “it’s the coach’s fault.”

Please
I agree it’s not coach Anderson fault at all. I’m just so upset at how young this team is. Our best lineup includes a true freshman(posh), two players who are now playing high major basketball (Moore, Cole) a sophomore (Julian) and a junior (Williams) who was huge BTW. It’s the inexperience that bothers me.

Up 82-75 2:37 left in regulation, coming out of TO, we foul pressuring the ball 70 feet away. These kids need to be coached up. Wilting leads down the stretch has been a specialty under the current staff.

All Moore had to do on that last shot was lean in and draw contact. Posh has to hit end of game free throws.

Wahab and their ability to bury threes is what did us in though.

Not everything is on him but can we please stop with the .500 or better BS. Means nothing
What does that have to do with anything? These guys have been playing the game since they were children. They blew the game, not the coach. 2 stupid turnovers. Easy shots in transition for Gtown. Dumb shots taken. Loosey-goosey passing.

It’s the guys on the court. They play. They’re playing a team basically the same age as them so save me the “they’re young” crap.

He did draw contact. GT refs weren't having it. They let them hack us all game without calls until mid way through 2nd. Then in crunch time they ignore it again.

Lol. These guys have been playing in important games half their lives. Cmon. This is nothing new for them. They were playing a mirror image too, not Duke or Michigan St.
I’m beginning to doubt CMA’s ability to coach in game.
It does seem like if the other team stays within 8, at about the 3 minute, that they're the ones who are in good shape. That's twice this has happened this year (we held on the first time against BC). Not to mention last years vs Butler, Xavier, Georgetown, and Marquette (the last game, where we held on).

The problem is, if Anderson leaves/gets fired (which won't happen, I know), who takes over? There is no perfect fit no-brainer for this program.

If there is such a thing as a good time for a COVID outbreak, now would be it for this team. I'd root for it, but since there's no guarantee that it would be minor, and that everyone will be OK, I just can't. Very tempting, though.

The fact that we can't play with the lead is mostly coaching. CMA is a great guy, but I am becoming increasingly troubled with his game management. We lose way too many games we should win.

Stunningly stupid comment

Coaches make their bones in the last 4 minutes of the game. A well coached team does not gag this game away.

Bottom line...they played a good, exciting game but it wasn't their night. Georgetown was clutch when it mattered.

You can rattle off like ten dumb things in last 7 minutes of the game
If team does dumb things it is reflection of coach
My biggest peeve is his substitutions don’t seem to be game dictated but rather predetermined
The last paragraph I completely agree with. He did it in the SH game too.

I don’t know...you can only get coached up so much. There comes a time the guys on the court have to be accountable. Georgetown is just as inexperienced as is.

Can anyone explain how coach plays Earlington 3 total minutes in the 2nd half and OT after the 1st half he had? The Duke was on fire. Its unexplainable. #letearlingtoncook

Hope you're kidding, because that's a horrible thought. This coming from someone whose son tested positive an hour ago.

But, their freshman backup point guard gets 22 points, and makes all the big plays at the end. Where was that inexperience?

I just think we've lost so much in recent years, that we've gotten good at it. Tough habit to break. Heck, Georgetown is finding it tough, too (our tying bucket at the end of regulation, and then rebounding our intentional miss at the end of OT). Somebody had to win in the end thought, and in Big East play, that's never us (or DePaul).

So we had a 9pnts lead mid 2nd half, blow
7pnt lead late 2nd blow.
With 0.8 left we gea gift that sends the game to ot.
We start ot by getting an early 4pnt lead but of course mess that up and lose the game.
And once again another shifty start to conf play.

Yeah we freaking suck right now.
I dont want to go overboard on cma and his pressure defense. I feel with the situation of covid-19, and just how this year is (duke losing twice on home court to ooc teams for the first time since the 80s, UK 1-4 this year.), it wouldn't be right
So i'll just shhhh

What are you talking about big plays that kid played reckless down the stretch? He made a ton of rookie mistakes.
