Post Game Euphoric thoughts

I am just catching up on things, after two deaths in the family only six days apart during last two weeks.

I noticed the score over Niagara was very low but haven't kept up until just now.

The NYT even had a short piece on yesterday's win which I didn't get to see live or even on t.v.

In reading about it, I find it amazing that we can commit 13 turnovers and still win by 12 points. Our shooting, rebounding and assists were great.

Very proud of this win, hopefully a sign of good things to come.

I am sort of superstitious so maybe from now on if I am "out of pocket" for a big game, they'll win. My daughter says every time I watch they start to lose. A bad luck charm.

I tried that on Saturday with the Warriors. They made it close while I was on the phone in my friend's garage, so I went back in there in the 4th quarter. Didn't help.

Sorry to hear that.

I don't normally do the superstitions thing but the team had won every game my daughter has watched. So Sunday she is bedridden with miserable flu, semi-consious, shaking with chills and muscle aches. It took me about 23 seconds of debating with myself to drag her in front of the TV... (I did make her a cup of tea)

i don't post that often but if yesterday is any indication of what our style of play will be....it is going to be an exciting time for St Johns basketball....terrific win..as an aside does anyone know where you can get those 718 tee shirts?

I'm still numb but let me touch on a couple things

1. Great to run into JSJ before the game and as usual the 114 crew and Shaun and Cole post game

2. I was dead wrong about this game. No way in heck did I think we had any shot of winning. Heck if it wasn't cuse we were playing I would have bet against us. As far as I know there was only 1 person to pick us to win. Oh yeah that would be Lavin.

3, Kudos to Mullin and staff. What a game plan. Their best game of the year. The biggest key to this game was Mussini. When he was off the court Cuse went on a run but more importantly go back and whoever dvr's the game and look. I don't think there was more than 1 time that when Mussini got the ball past the half court that the ball stayed in his hands for more than 2 full seconds. Not more than 1. That was the key. The ball movement was contagious which we needed against the zone

4. If I had to pick 1 game on the schedule that I wanted to win it was this game. Fuck Cuse.

5. Also a great win for the Big East

6. Irish times which is now the Thirsty Fan is back open again. Opened back up 3 days ago which is very important for post game celebratory drinks like today

7 Ralph didn't curse once. Or at least 4 letter word curse

WHAT A FREAKING GAME !!!!!!!!!

As I mentioned in the Game Thread, I was right with you on Number 2. I couldn't agree with you more on Numbers 3, 4 and 5.

I have no comment on Numbers 1 and 7(Not sure if I know any of those mentioned) nor No. 6 (don't know where that place is but feel free to enlighten me on all).

And of course you are again right on with:

WHAT A FREAKING GAME !!!!!!!!!

While he might not every play that well again I hope Amar continues to be aggressive and looks for his shot. Will take a guy messing up by being aggressive over a guy just trying not to mess up every time.

Don't know about 718 shirts, but didn't someone on this board have a supply of Redmen.com T-shirts? Would like to snag one if still available.

The thirsty fan is on 31st across from the garden towards the back of it next to brother jimmys/ Nice big spacious bar with a lot of tv's. It's a great meeting spot.

As for the other 3 people that I mentioned. JSJ is Jersey Shore Johnny. Shaun and Cole are 2 great guys that don't post much here but read the site a lot that some others met on the UCLA road trip several years ago

Thanks. I've been to brother Jimmy's so I know exactly where you are talking about.

Definitely wouldn't mind meeting JSJ and you in persoN and others in person.. Have met a few, unfortunately some of whom don't post here any more.

After one of the MSG weekend games we will do a post game there

The Nova and Seton Hall games have 12pm starts so 2pm is early for everyone to meet where nobody needs to rush to catch a train after the game

Comments/questions about Amar from some of the Cuse fans sitting near me:
Where'd you guys find this kid?
How come Boeheim wasn't on him?
Was the a MCAA coming out of high school?
This kid is definitely all Big East this year!

Great stuff.

I will say this...its just one game and his shooting hasnt been consistent...but some things that are consistent are his enthusiasm and his willingess to bang people
