Ponds was just damn good today, we needed him to be great. 3-4 balls he got his hands on that he didn’t end up with, that never happens. Have to start getting some wins we aren’t supposed to have.

This loss sucks because now we’re in a position where we have to win one of those massive three road games ( Duke, Marquette or Creighton). Assuming we beat Georgetown again and end up 4-4 we’ll have to get one win to avoid being down 4-6 in the conference with another game vs Nova. Our road is very difficult from here on out.

The Georgetown game is a must win, we will be on 8 day rest and at home so I have to expect a win there

Of course, they will be favored at home. The following three games could bury them however.

This crap happens on Sunday I’ll be in a self induced Bronx Pale Ale Stupor

We need to go 8-3 in our final 11 games. We have 6 home games including one against Nova. That means we probably need 3 road wins after going 5-1 in our home games. I don’t see where those three road wins are coming from. Maybe Xavier, after that I don’t know.
Kamar Baldwin had 30 on 18 shots. Ponds went for 20 on 19 shots.
Was disappointed with how it seemed like we didn’t even know Baldwin is their guy. It’s the one thing everyone knows about Butler. We’ve done great jobs on Howard, Powell this year cause you could tell stopping them was a huge part of the gameplan. We didn’t really seem ready for Baldwin

I no longer “expect” anything with this team. Ya just never know which team will show up from game to game

We were beating Nova for 30 minutes on their home floor, with an injured Ponds. No way I’m pencilling in the rematch as a loss.

Simon drives me crazy! Too many missed bunnies and too many crazy wild shots on drive that have absolutely no chance

Nova is not a super team. Very beatable. Jay Wright probably doing his best coaching this year. We will beat them in MSG.

Very frustrating.
Up one game / down the next.
Next two games are must-win games.
We need a season-turning game, and consistency, or we’ll limp to the finish.
No clue what to expect at this point.
Let’s go guys.

Jack, the problem is that this is a Jekyll and Hyde team. If the beat Nova at home they will lose at home to Xavier. You just can’t trust them. No way they go 6-0 at home. They’re not consistent enough. Therefore , they have to win three road games. With them being a Jekyll and Hyde team how do they win three road games?

I think we'll know everything we need to know about how the rest of the season will go after the next 2 games. We'll have plenty of rest and hopefully Ponds will be closer to 100 percent. Also gives Keita a little rest since they were saying he's only at about 70/80 percent.
