(POST GAME) (#8 / #10) Villanova (MSG) Tues. Jan. 28, 6:30p, FS-1 / 570 AM

Ouch. This was a total beatdown. Its going to be a long rest of the season. Hope the 2 freshman and 2 juco kids can play or this might get worse next year before it gets better.

The last two hires have been great. Cragg and Anderson give me hope; but I have been hoping for so long. Just getting harder to believe.

Understandable it's getting harder. I kinda felt that way after Georgetown beat our ass a few weeks ago.

The rest of this season and next year could possibly be telling. Some of us are getting too old for this madness, lol.

Oh it was even alright.

Not that it would not have made a difference tonight, but puzzled why Greg has not picked up a notch offensively at this point in season. Does a lot of little things, but frankly I expected him to be on a more positive track offensively. Hope he finishes strong & sets tone for a solid junior year.

Very disappointing game no other way to spin it. Really not competitive. Honestly, Villanova is a well coached team. However, I don’t think they are a great team. And it wasn’t close.

Knew this season would be a slog. Maybe I’ll feel better tomorrow. Year after year we’ve seen this movie before.

Raftery said he wasn't feeling well and missed practice yesterday. He looks to have improved his stroke from last season. If team keeps playing this way, I'm going to have a stroke.

Regarding Williams, I would like to see him be more assertive. I could even live with some out of control drives from him. He needs to figure out how he can contribute.

I also think he can shoot the three better than Rutherford and Dunn. He should take them when he's open. Now is the time to see what he's got.

Not going to change the outcome of this game but we must look at playing Rutherford less minutes. He is an extreme liability on the offensive end of the court. He is not a great assist guy either. No scoring or No assists.Need to find more minutes for other players and give something up on the defensive end. He is a good kid who works hard, roots for his teammates and joined our program so I want him to succeed but sometimes change is necessary.

To go back to Heron for a minute, what the heck? It’s one thing to have an off night or even a disappointing season. But how do you go from being a stud second tram all SEC performer to being a total non-factor. Is he hurt? What’s wrong with him? When Figueroa has a poor game, it looks like he’s forcing things, but still has talent. Heron looks like a one-dimensional spit up shooter on his best nights.

On the positive side, Dunn has really been a please surprise. If he could get himself to be a 33 percent three point shooter next year (not unrealistic), he could have a nice senior season.

In the famous words of shoeless joe "if you build it he will come". Need to start winning. Did you hear Johnson pumping up the Nova program at the end of the game?

Does anybody ever remember a game where the home team only attempted 4 free throws? And 2 of those came with about a minute to go. It's not like we weren't going inside either, at least in the 2nd half.
