Unless , they are high 4-5 star players? Howard , Powell and Ponds aren’t big but , they are big time players . Will Posh be at that level? We don’t know .
I will make this declaration now. Posh Alexander will be every St johns fan's favorite player by New years eve. We are lucky his is 5'10 cause if he was any bigger, hed probably be at Villanova or Duke.

The kid had a 16 assist game followed by a 60 point game just a few weeks back.

He is going to be a star here. Get ready johnny fans!
He reminds me a little of Khalid El-Amin of UConn. He was only 5'10 or 5'11 but with a big body and was a great player for them.
Let me tell you something Mean Gene, I agree with you. This team will have a very new look next year. The starting lineup will be:

Posh, Cole, Earlington, Penny, Moore

That is going to be a nasty starting 5.
You really think Earlington is going to start at the 3 next year?!?! Hahaha
Instead of asking a question and then laughing, why dont you tell us who you think we be the starting 3 next year if figgy doesnt return?
Well I've never seen Posh, Cole, or Moore play, and don't know much about them other than what is posted here. But going by who we have returning and the fact that they will be Anderson guys, I'll take your word for it that they will start. I agree the Champaigne will start. So that leaves the 3 spot. It would come down to Dunn, Williams, and Earlington for that spot, unless someone else emerges out of nowhere. Of those 3, Earlington's skill set is the furthest away from being a guard. He does nice things at times, but he is in no way a guard.

I start Dunn or Williams over him any day of the week if the other four spots are set.

Please please please can you use the quote function?
Please.
Well his Bingo post followed one of his own posts so I can only figure he was giving himself credit for a spot on post because usually no one else does. ;) :)

When you look at Nova scoring it really comes down to the open threes we allowed both Moore and Bey to have. After the all Gillespie, Robinson - Earl and Samuels didn't hurt us.
I love Champagnie and Earlington's game. And just think they are going to get better.

As far as taking threes, one of the things we will need next year to be a decent team is for guys like Williams, Dunn, Champ & Earlington to improve their percentage from three. The last few games of this season are all about using them to improve our returning guys, so I am all for those guys taking threes when open.

Based upon current recruits and expected returnees, I think
Cole will start at the 3.
Posh or Dunn at PG
Dunn or Williams at the 2G.
Earlington or Champagnie at PF
Moore or Roberts at C

Nova packed the paint and dared our guys to shoot. Our guys figured out that that with some ball movement they could create lanes to the basket where Nova really has no shot blockers. Unfortunately... our guys aren’t finishers. Story of the season.

As far as LJ... just think he’s a better supporting cast guy. He doesn’t have the makeup to be a marquee guy for this team. Either you rise to the challenge, or you shrink away. Definitely see more of the latter. We’re in need of somebody who can put the team on their back in critical situations. Somebody who can create for themselves and others.

The sophomore core is getting better. They didn’t play last year so they were more like freshmen coming into the year. I look for them to keep progressing. Worried about Roberts because the IQ just isn’t there. Earl, Champ, and Greg have a chance to do special things by the time they get out of here. And Dunn will only get better as this is his first year playing at this level. Has to learn how to see the floor when he gets into the lane, but then again, we just have no shooters this year. We’ve pretty much won the possession battle every game this year. Just need finishers, and some difference makers down the stretch. CMA’s teams usually average around 77-80 ppg. If we just had ONE guy who was a marquee, and wanted to take over in that moment, we would’ve won a lot of these games this year. Still encouraged by the performance. Nova came in ready to stomp us, they were retiring jerseys and everything. But our guys put up a fight. Just short handed. That will change next year.

Can’t help but think that if Big East teams are letting this little team pester them into the turnovers that they have been, once we get shot makers and finishers, it’s a whole new ballgame. Because nobody plays like us. And the unpredictability is something that’s going to be hard to prepare for. Nova was shook from the pressure last night.

Looking at the positives

- Effort was strong
- earlington continues to play well
- Williams was aggressive and his shot looks good
- Rutherford busted his ass
- champagne rebounded well and looks like a great freshman

Our kids played with great energy and passion last night. They fought tooth and nail from the opening tip to the final whistle. Kudos to the kids for their fine effort and to the coaching staff for keeping them motivated through the rough times that our team has experienced during the Big East season.

We lost to a more talented and nationally ranked team on their home court. The game was highly competitive and we gave them a good run for their money. I hate to see us lose any game but we couldn't have realistically expected more last night. Yes, we missed a bunch of bunnies, we can't shoot from the outside, we don't have a quality point guard or a really good big man, etc. Yet, despite it all, we were in it until the very end.

CMA plays a distinctive style. Not every kid can flourish in it. When he turns the roster over in the next couple of years, I believe that we will be able to compete with anybody in our league on a nightly basis.

Dunn and Williams must shoot better that is what 2gs do ,create and finish and pass .They possess most of the skills but need to get better and the could be really good

Getting a sense that a true five might be less valuable than strong four at least 6'9", 230 who can move and go up strong. CMA seems to operate on "speed kills" basis but you need to put the ball in the basket to finish the job.

L.J. seems to be pressing. Not surprised his shooting % is down this year considering the degree of difficulty of many of his shots.

The stat I would like to know is how many turnovers our Big East opponents have averaged against us in the last 5 minutes of games. Seems to me we are not turning anyone over, which essentially is our offense. Maybe it's fatigue, maybe it's the other tram bearing down in the end game, or who knows. It just seems like every game we were in for 30 or 35 minutes turns into a half court game with the game on the line.
Yes and that is why caraher needs to be in as a 3 point threat in the last 5 minutes
When is the last Time Caraher made a 3??

You mean all slow white guys aren't great 3-point shooters?
I'm thinking it might be time to move on from LJ. I don't know if he has anything to gain from staying, other than his degree.
poor shooting and defense...routinely wanders on defense leading to open 3s and doesn’t seem to aggressively go after 50-50 balls...I think CMA realizes it and doesn’t hesitate to pull him...

Dunn on the other hand plays pedal to the metal every minute he is the game. One play that stood out to me during the Nova game was when he came down court and aggressively backed Gillespie down and scored.
