(POST GAME) @#12 / #12 Villanova, Wed. Feb. 26, 6:30p, FS-1 / 570 AM

Why ANY player is allowed to take 3s is beyond me. We're one of the worst in America, including high schools, so take it out of the playbook.

Herron’s Season has been hurt by his pre season injury at the Pan Am games . Having Ankle surgery underscores the damage done this past summer and the injury in the Brown game , for starters . You can’t judge his skill by trying to play while injured . Figgy’s game is not a fit with Anderson’s and hasn’t been all year . CMA shows little interest in creating offensive sets for LJ or any screens , etc . It has to be extremely frustrating for Figgy , and it’s noticeable . Playing him only 22 minutes tonight , shows Anderson has little regard for Figgy’s season . It’s not anyone’s fault . Just a difference in the way Mullin used LJ and the way Coach uses him . Positioning him 30 feet from the basket all season has hurt Figgy getting to the hoop . It’s too far for him to get past defenders . And , his floater is too far from the basket this year as a result . There are a lot of things on the Must Do list for next year . One , will the new recruits be in sync with Anderson’s Style of Defense over Offense? Two, will 35 minutes of Hell and 5 minutes of tired players be a easy target of BE Coaches and teams ? It seems they all have Anderson figured out . Three, will Smurf sized guards cut it in the BE ? Unless , they are high 4-5 star players? Howard , Powell and Ponds aren’t big but , they are big time players . Will Posh be at that level? We don’t know .

Believe it or not we are worse at shooting 2's than we are at shooting 3's.

I will make this declaration now. Posh Alexander will be every St johns fan's favorite player by New years eve. We are lucky his is 5'10 cause if he was any bigger, hed probably be at Villanova or Duke.

The kid had a 16 assist game followed by a 60 point game just a few weeks back.

He is going to be a star here. Get ready johnny fans!

All those missd layups and putbacks

We win this game if only one of the items listed below occurred
:1. LJ shot like last year
2. Heron availed and played like last year
3. We have one legit big man
4. We as a team shoot mediocre instead of terrible
5. Next years team additions plus Earlington, Champy, Dunn,

While it's very frustrating we're not that far away - really.

So then we'll lose by 20 instead of 10. Unfortunately the 3 point shot forces you to keep up or die trying.

You would seem to think so giving his terrible play the last 4 games or so. Something is causing the terrible year he is having.

He's simply not a "Batman" or alpha type. He's also not playing with a guard who can adequately or consistently set him up.

We shouldn't be allowed to take 3's or 2's either then. based on how many layups we missed last night, that might be verboten also.

Reality is we played very hard, protected the ball (only 3 turnovers), forced turnovers (15), and stayed in the game for 35-37 minutes. Nova has a talented team, and we just don't have the horses yet. Plenty to be proud about for our guys though.

You have to take some threes to keep the defense somewhat honest even if you're not a great three point shooting team. otherwise the defense will just pack it in and then you will not have any driving lanes to attack the basket and draw fouls etc. You take them and hope you hit enough to draw the defense out to open up the court so you can take the more high percentage shots that the team has a better chance of making. But, strategically, you can't just abandon the three point shot.

He reminds me a little of Khalid El-Amin of UConn. He was only 5'10 or 5'11 but with a big body and was a great player for them.

Let me tell you something Mean Gene, I agree with you. This team will have a very new look next year. The starting lineup will be:

Posh, Cole, Earlington, Penny, Moore

That is going to be a nasty starting 5.

Thanks. And our 1st 4 off the bench will be dunn, williams, roberts and wusu.

St Johns will be a real team next year. No one in the big east is going to want to play us.
