Soon as the game gets in doubt, officiating makes sure that it goes the way it's supposed to. Worst was when the nove player swiped it away from earlington and they gave them the ball. Marcus and Julian got mauled several times without interference from the striped shirts. Embarrassing.

Team is playing better without LJ in the lineup. What's that say?

More missed layups.

Outgunned, outclassed, but never out hustled, proud of our boys.

L.J. seems to be pressing. Not surprised his shooting % is down this year considering the degree of difficulty of many of his shots.

The stat I would like to know is how many turnovers our Big East opponents have averaged against us in the last 5 minutes of games. Seems to me we are not turning anyone over, which essentially is our offense. Maybe it's fatigue, maybe it's the other tram bearing down in the end game, or who knows. It just seems like every game we were in for 30 or 35 minutes turns into a half court game with the game on the line.

Yes and that is why caraher needs to be in as a 3 point threat in the last 5 minutes

I'm thinking it might be time to move on from LJ. I don't know if he has anything to gain from staying, other than his degree.

Get new glasses

I suspect that Caraher, Steere, Sears will not be on the roster next year. No offense to the kids, but they are not Big East caliber. Next years guys will look a lot different. Just a tough stretch to go through right now.

I thought this team would pack it in for the rest of the year. What a game. We have little talent but hung around all game and did not go away.

Very impressed how Anderson has these kids giving it there all.

This is the type of loss I can live with in year 1 (and probably next year too, considering the opponent, and the location).

We didn't get blown out from the start (although we almost did), and we didn't choke it away in the final seconds, when it looked like we had the game won.

These are the types of losses, where I can say it was just because we didn't have the horses. We were down 2 with about 8 minutes left, and then Villanova's better talent took over.

If only LJ could take and hit some routine shots, although its not all on him. Its amazing how many chippies we miss. But you cannot complain about the effort!

Great effort against a nationally ranked team by most of the team. I am perplexed by the play of Figueroa. He was so ineffective tonight that CMA sat him for long stretches. His unorthodox shooting form is a strain on my eyes. Marcellus is rapidly developing and Williams is improving. Unfortunately we have almost no inside presence while Nova had 7 players 6'7 to 6'9. Coach Anderson has everyone giving 100 percent (except Figgy who seems to just be biding his time). I want one more win and we need Figueroa to show up to get it.

He is 13-51 from three on the season. 26%

There is some part of me that thinks the explosion of professional basketball internationally over the past 20 years affects the way some players think and play. Similar to the attitude most high school seniors have the last semester. They have already been accepted to college so their best or smartest effort is no longer needed.

The U.S. sent 1,650 players internationally in 2017. Thousands of Americans play all over the globe. College starters not good enough for the NBA have an excellent chance of landing somewhere overseas. Twenty years ago, or perhaps it was more, college upperclassmen without NBA skills would cherish their final season, knowing they would likely never play in front of a huge, screaming crowd again. Now, many players seem to play with no sense of excitement, with no urgency. I don't know if that is happening with LJ or not. I know it ended Lovett's career here. Just seems like NCAA basketball has become the farm system for overseas professional basketball.

I wonder if there is a physical issue with LJ.

Could be anything but my thoughts keep coming back to defenses focusing on him, self pressure to be the offense for team and playing for career along with unorthodox offense and shot selection.

Can't be easy being in his position with potentially only a few games to go and longer term decisions to make for himself.

Or maybe he is just an ok player and nothing more.

He should take better shots but he cant create his own shots he likes taking 40 footers, coach did right giving him less time Brings me to my pit have been saying LJ and Heron were overated. I thing Earlington is only going to get better
