Hopefully next year it will not be 6 new transfers to replace Heron, Clark, Ponds, Simon and the two freshmen that will leave because of lack of playing time because the top 6 needed to play most of the minutes because they couldn't put anyone away early. As you can see I'm feeling pretty optimistic.:p
As to our freshmen...
I hope Williams stays and plays some THIS YEAR! Agree?

Yes, Steere is clearly not a quick fix this season period due to roster being full. Next season may be another story with some “creativity”.

If he transfers to a junior college for 2nd semester would he then be clear to enroll here next year and play?

If he passes Calculus and Chemistry in the Winter session, can he be eligible for this year's BE tournament?

.......come on people.

Could he enroll here as a "regular" student for second semester and then be put on a scholarship for next year when we have open spots?

Would assume so

This is the type of transfers I want in terms of size and talent. Not sure if his head is screwed on straight though given his history.

May beat chasing Kofi with no results though.

He played at three high schools.
Committed to Creighton.on July 2017. Decommitted on September 2017.
Signed with NC State. After 1 game he wants to transfer.
And this is who we want? Why?????????????
So he could come here, play one game, and decide, nah I'm gonna transfer out? Nah I'll pass on this kid.

But this is SJU so why am I even wondering why we want this kid?

Did anyone say we want this is who we want ?
I thought Paultzman said «  sensé Matt may have some interest «  ?
Why don’t you wait a little to see how things play out before getting frustrated. I am sure staff would do their due diligence. So far all transfers brought in after our first season have worked out very well.

But why even have alittle interest in someone like this?
I'd look at his resume and see his past, and immediately say nextttttttt.

Because we have struck out terribly in recruiting big men for whatever reason. Sima transferred after a year and a half. Yakwe was a bust his second and third seasons and then left. The transvestite never made it to campus. Jordan Brown committed then de-committed prior to completing high school. Owens transferred after his junior year. Keita played a game and then got hurt.
Let’s cut to the chase, we are desperate for someone 6 8 and bigger , no ifs and or buts.

Because when every high school recruit who signed (except Ponds) bailed on Mullin after their sophomore year, this is the best we are going to do for next year imo.

Man...His dad is large....natural I am sure.

Hope we do go after him. That being said I still find it hard to figure why out of all big men across the country we could not get one to come on board. Many div 2. School seem to bring them on board with regularity

Because Matt is not a big man recruiter imo. You needed Mitch and Mullin to take the lead on big man recruits. Perhaps too little too late after 3 years of recruiting ambivalence on their part.
