Yes, they're angling to get back in.
I’m mixed about it.
I dread the thought of a revitalized UCONN, led by Danny Hurley back in the BEC and dominating NYC again.
But, a part of me says, bring them on, and compete and beat them Mano-a-Mano.
Judging by the past 18 years though, I’m not sure if we’re capable of that—year in/year out.
And—with Hurley—they would be.

Quick, let's do it this year. We'll play UCONN and bump our strength of schedule. :p

Do you guys think that if this happens and say we get matchups like Cuse vs. SJ or UConn vs. SJ and other good rivalries and MSG is packed (which is a guarantee) that it will make UConn seriously consider jumping back to the Big East? They need to realize they are not a football school and never will be. Recruiting is nonexistent in the northeast for major football talent and no one cares about college football up here. If they do, it's a frontrunning ND/Michigan/Ohio St/PSU/Bama fan.

The problem is, they've invested so much money Into their program. Through gifts from wealthy donors they have really upgraded their facilities. I don't know what the stadium situation is, and if it's leased or not. However, I do know when things were going good, they usually sell alot of tickets. Remember, when it comes to Connecticut, UConn is the only show in town. No pro teams. So I wouldn't say nobody cares about football.

Trust me, not long ago I was of the same mindset of "just screw em". That was when they had Ollie. So what changed my mind? Well, they got a sure thing coach in Hurley and you just know they will be relevant again shortly if not in the top 25 soon enough. They're going to be successful with or without us and why not be a part of it? We beat them the last 2 games, we can beat them again. We are on the verge of losing MSG and though we are a very strong conference overall, the fact is only Villanova and occasionally Xavier have been truly on the national radar. If we could snag UConn somehow, it would really boost our next TV deal and ESPN might even get us back which would be huge.

I’m with you
Screw those turncoats
I have no use for any of them

Beastiality aside without a big name winning coach with a staff that recruits 24/7 we would fall behind Uconn quickly.
A preview of that scenario is taking place already with Gaffney, Kofi and Precious and they are not even in the Big East yet.

Nah, you didn't know it goes by conference affiliation. UCONN is worse then Rutgers, DePaul, Oregon St etc because they play in the AAC.

If UCONN entered the Big East they wouldn't be just behind Villanova they would go behind DePaul in terms of marketable programs with recent history.

Conference affilation. That is all that matters. At least that is what I have been told by some very smart people.

There was no more of a sure thing than Ollie was 5-6 years ago. Look how that worked out.

Sure thing coach? On the verge of losing MSG? Talk about major exaggerations!

This is UConn. They’re already screwing the horse. And the cow. And the pig....

I have gone on occasion and the stadium has been half empty & games a joke. Their conference is not an easy one to make strides in either with Houston, UCF, Memphis, USF. Imo, Bringing back football was a strategic blunder.

And then to make matters even more revolting, they tip the cow after the dirty deed is done.

Ollie inherited some of Calhoun's kids and took advantage of the prestige already built up by him so he could ride the coattails. Once every fingerprint of Calhoun and the old Big East wore off and it was just Ollie, he struggled a lot. So different story IMO. Hurley simply works too hard and has had too much success to fail at a place with the resources UConn has. Just like Holtmann at Ohio State and now Mack at Louisville. I think many would be shocked if Hurley can't turn UConn hoops around. Would it still be worth excommunicating UConn if MSG says screw the Big East, the ACC is giving us more money goodbye? If they're in the top 25 again and relevant again it gives us another chance for a big resume win and a guaranteed huge crowd.

UCONN made their decision a long time ago. They and all the defectors who left the Big East, now have to live with their decisions. When they left the Big East they didn't care what happened to the teams that were left behind. I personally don't care how any of them do and I don't care to even play with them for a minute. they have made their choice we have made ours. The defectors can go to HELL.

Brevity. Succinct. Concise. Terse. A few words to consider.

Ollie failed. He was also once the hottest young coach in the country and considered a sure thing. Apparently he wasn’t. Hurley hasn’t coached a goddamn game at uconn yet.
